I totally agree Becka. The fast cars, aggression and general madness of the urban sprawl is invokes a massive need within me to to find wilderness and stay there. Fantastic trip. Right from the start I was thinking how good the video quality was, much better than GoPro, and then you said you had a heavy camera which made sense! 😁 I grew up in Snowdonia, moved to Brighton for 10 years, then one day decided I just had to go back, sold my flat and moved back to Snowdonia, took up fell running and wild camping and have been loving it ever since, you sound like you'd love wild camping high up in the mountains, it adds yet another dimension of feeling like you're in the wilderness.

I really enjoyed your vlog , but where is this place Betsy Co Ed you refer to ? Betws y Coed means prayer house in the woods , Snowdon is Yr Wyddfa ( With va) which is named after a giants tomb , Bala lake is actually Llyn Tegid named after Tegid Foel ( Tegid the bald) an evil man whose city was drowned and lies beneath the waters and its told that you can still see the lights of the city beneath the water at certain times. I'm glad you enjoyed your time in this wonderful part of the world , the original names tell a tale and I'm sure you would enjoy their meaning as they connect you to the beauty that is Eryri (Snowdonia) . Very brave to swim in the afon ( river) 👍

Brings back fond memories of lots of family holidays around North Wales. When you get the right weather I think that area is hard to beat. Shell Island near Harlech used to be one of my fav campsites, a large site with a variety of camping spots from open fields, dunes, to more secluded sheltered spots. Main benefit of the site for me was the beach location, stunning sunsets and the snowdonia mountain backdrop, oh and a pub and free showers!! ⚠️😁

Fantastic editing skills. Colour/exposure looks amazing. What camera was this shot on? Guessing you edit on premier? Any advice or tutorials you recommend in getting the colour right?

Thanks so much! Shot on a Canon 80D :) I edit on Final Cut Pro, and I actually didn’t do much colour grading at all, but I used a sigma art lens and I think it’s mainly down to that! If a clip look significantly out of place then I colour grade it. Nowadays I apply a ‘base corrector’ layer to it and adjust from that. Hope that helps!

next time you visit have a little comfort and stay at ogwen Bank Holiday Park they have lodges and pods with hot tubs and is located next to zipworld which I recommend, the Holiday Park is more suited to walkers not like haven

The two “a”’s in Bala are pronounced hard and short (as in Pall Mall), not pronounced “ah”. So definitely not “Bahlah”. Also Bettws y coed is not pronounced Betsy, but Bett-oose uh coyd.
