I like your reviews when it comes to Reebok sneakers, I consider you "The Authority" when it comes to Reebok sneakers, just like for Nike, Adidas, Fila ect I got my go too guys for those respectively. I did purchase this pair as I did have the 2013 pair, but sold....I think with current global inflation and Reebok having a few ownership changes. That's why this sneaker is different, yea I agree it's not worth the price, but neither are a lot of the Nike, Adidas and Fila sneakers either that are coming out, and most Jordan Brand sneakers have shot up to extreme amounts compared to what they even use to be a year ago. I think now in days with Hypebeasts and these being more lifestyle than they were back when you were coming up, Reebok and Shaq know people are going to buy them, heck some people even doubling up. Sad to say these are the times. Although I do feel the price is steep for what you're getting. It's a cash grab at the end of the day, and they know people will buy them. That's my take on it though. Love the videos, keep up the good work.

Trent, thanks for the honest review - I had no intention of purchasing this pair as my 2013 pair is in mint condition. That said the cutbacks are disappointing - the $180 price tag all but guarantees that these will be in outlets in a few months for 1/2 off at the bare minimum. I'd love for the Preacher and Dunk Mob to be reissued some day but with these cheap materials and overall diminished quality it's hard to get excited.

For what it's worth, I think the Preacher and Dunk Mob were using synthetic materials too. Old Eastbay catalogues list the Preacher as having a "Clarino synthetic upper."

I woke at 11pm my time for the release on Reeboks website. But I’m not surprised Shaq didn’t lower the price because he don’t want his name on products with a price that people can’t afford. That’s why he sold his products at Walmart.

thanks for the review. i had mine before in 93. wear em for hoops. so ended up with creases in the toe part ( which i think is the only thing i dont like) but the design?? its one of the best design. and stil love it. like to ask, how many times did they re issue this shoe??

It will eventually crease, no doubt. But the Shaq Attaq was known to crease a lot.

@@kicksreason Yes. Due to how lateral panels come onto the toe box, hard to avoid creasing. But when I see how you push on the 2022 toe box, I'm quite surprise to see how it seems to come back correctly. Maybe because synthetic leather, right? With true leather, would be another history... :) I just ordered mine this morning. I'll compare with my 2017 on feet, then see if I keep the 2022 or not...

Was at a Reebok outlet today. They had a ton of these at 50% off $150. After feeling the cheap material, I wouldn't even pay the $75. I have the retro from a few years ago and its night and day better quality, even though the graphite was not done as good as the original. The 2022/2023 versions are literally like Payless shoes.

I'm not sure how shoe companies are allowed to be very vague with their materials. On the Reebok Australia website; they describe this as "leather and synthetic upper". This is the sneaker version of shrinkflation - where they normal paying nearly $200 for synthetic (which will look horrid after a month); when $200 used to get you as much leather as a couch.

I was fortunate enough to get the 2013 release and love them as much as you do. I copped the last release and was devastated that the pumps didn't work. Now $280 Australian dollarydoos for the 2022 pair with no key chain or decent pump mechanism... I'll give it a miss this time. If you account for inflation, this $180 pair would have been $85 in 1992. Seems fair to me. It's not like the originals had great leather either... it may have all been genuine leather, but it was still sneaker leather, which isn't great.

Back in the day, there were companies that were undisputed when it came to quality; reebok, adidas and Fila to name a few. So those toe box shots hurt my heart. It doesn't even have the shaq tag or a proper pump, total failure...makes me question the authenticity of that carbon plate. In fact does adidas still own reebok? I think that could be a factor also.
