Fred Leeland Hmm, as a Ravens fan, I’m going to have to respectfully disagree. A quick internet search will also disagree with your assessment. The Ravens defense and special teams did a lot to hide issues on offense. Flacco has always played mediocre during the regular season and turned it up in the playoffs. He’s the opposite of Peyton Manning and not nearly as good.
@fredleeland24645 жыл бұрын
@@Dalonghair unless you watched the season you wouldn't understand Yes, I'm a Steelers fan and he couldn't beat them for a few seasons, but Flacco played to the Ravens system and did something Kyle Boller and Steve McNair couldn't do which is get them a few wins in the playoffs In the AFC championship, both offenses didn't play that well, it was a defensive display, but Flacco kept the offense above water with that good defense and didn't cause the team to collapse with terrible mistakes Yeah he didn't do a Russell Wilson and have nearly 30 TDS (another really good rookie qb year that would've gone further if there was better end game play calling vs the Falcons on the Divisional) but Flacco did exactly what needed to be done and never looked like he didn't belong
@Dalonghair5 жыл бұрын
Fred Leeland Didn’t Big Ben earn Offensive Rookie of the Year? RG3, Matt Ryan, Jameis Winston, Andy Dalton, all these guys had much better rookie years than Flacco. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Flacco fan, and I think he will do well in Denver. His rookie year seemed good partly because the mixed bag of QBs before him were... not good. Testaverde was well past his prime, McNair didn’t fit their system and he never felt like part of the team. Dilfer was good at not making mistakes, the prototypical game manager. Every other QB was awful until Flacco, so he shined in comparison. I would definitely not say he had one of the best rookie seasons ever.

That's wrong Joe Flacco was a rookie playing in an NFL playoff game. Joe wasn't expected to be the reason to win this game. But to say he had nothing to do with it is a stupid thing to say the fact he didn't TURN THE BALL OVER was sufficient enough with our Defense and special teams was enough to win. Chad Pennington is good QB our Defense in 2008 has a way of making good QB's look stupid.

No Homers Pennington was one of the reasons MIA went to the playoffs that year, he would have stayed the starter for years but injuries derailed him. After he retired notice the Dolphins have been terrible, not gonna fault him losing to an all time great defense, this same defense had Brady choke and shut Moss and that high powered Patriots offense down a year later
