Managing your Reef Tank Temperature can be difficult especially during the summer. During the summer your tank is likely to experience some overheating periods. This can be fatal for livestock.
In this video, I teach you about the Reef Tank Temperature Range and what happens if your tank exceeds this range. I tell you about both Reef Tank Temperature Celcius as Reef Tank Temperature Fahrenheit. Reef Tank Heater Placement for Heating an Aquarium. And I teach you about Reef Tank Aquarium Cooling using an Aquarium Cooling Fan. This will make your Aquarium Cooler.

I live in Sydney Australia where is regularly gets to 45 degrees Celsius. Last year our record high was 48 degrees for one day. I spent a lot of time insulating my roof space. Added radiant heat barrier and doubled the amount of insulation batts. But that was not enough. When the outside temps get over about 35 degrees which is almost every day in summer we also need air con. I use this on a wifi controller to keep my room temp at or under 26 degrees. Lots of work but it's worth it and keeps all my tanks happy.

Cooling is made by evaporation ,so in case of hot room also aquarium is cooling down! Evaporation changes salinity so you have to add RODI water to get salinity to level that was before

Mine goes up to 84 to 85 degrees honestly fish can take that its the inverts that cannot. A cool trick I use is to freeze some rodi water and let it drip in throughout the day from a cup I poke a hole in. Of course this is for nano tanks in a 30 gallon or higher it won't help at all also freezing a few rodi ice cubes and cooling fans can help too. Worst case scenario is needing a chiller.

This is the REASON i cant have marine/reef tanks in my part of the world....it gets 107 °F and everything will die......cant use a fan cause it's of no use and humidity is 90 plus, So...only option is a chiller and it's Really expensive, more than all equipment combined. you people have the perfect climate.

Very incorrect information you can successfully keep reef ranks anything from 24 degrees to 29 done wild reefs are even warmer than this, it's not the high temperature that's the issue it's the swing in temperature that causes issues, poor knowledge of reef keeping and should not give advice based on that
@DannysAquariums

I said reef tanks do best between 24-26 degrees Celsius. I did not say it’s impossible to keep them warmer than that. Warmer can will cause problems.

In the video I mentioned the problems you can run into when the temperature gets higher. What’s happening to warmer wild reefs? Corals are bleaching.

Craig Coates you realize that reefs differ in temperatures throughout the world right?
@zion3335
@zion3335 4 жыл бұрын
@@Christian-sr6pd no they dont.....tropical reefs may be at the tropics with high temperatures but they are at a very specific place in the sea.. the temp there remains constant between 22-28, its at a depth where its neither too hot or cold....corals are so much temp dependent that entire reefs get bleached out in a slight temperature variation. i know because in my part of the world reefs occur naturally but we cant keep marine tanks without adequate cooling cause corals will be stressed in high temp and expell their zooxanthellae and die... that's a FACT
