Hmmm - you know the biggest question for me now is what to do on a shallow 4 foot tank thats 2.5 - 3 front to back. Was going to go t5 hybrid but may get away with 2 x Gen5 XR15's. The smart thing though would be the t5 hybrid with 2 x Gen4s - would maybe even get 2 x XR30s for USD500-600 and would have to turn them down with a hybrid. But now - even on an SPS dominant reef - you could get away with 2 x Gen5 XR30s and it would be super clean (depending on the mounting options). I don't have the funds for Gen 5 XR30s though - plus the mounting isn't that sleek - the Giesmann Stellar looks better to me - and then fill it with some 2nd hand radions - yay!

The BRS recommended a massively overkilled system. 2 of these XR15s on a 4x2ft LPS tank should be perfect and I think heavy SPS tanks will be fine with 3 XR15s This was a MUCH better explanation of the lights and I would say many more reefers will buy these Gen5s once they work out they need less lights - get better spread - and they should have much less above their tank

depends on the type of coral but i would bet 2x XR15 G5 would do the trick :)

@@ReefDudes Yeah you have 2 over your tank and they are G4s - but yes as it would be maybe 18 or 20 deep I bet I can mwhoount them high and the spread would be perfect on a mixed tank and later can just add a third. I think that is what everyone is missing - you are getting a super clean look over your tank with the T5s - I heard people say they thought they would do like the Coral Care form factor but who would want that when you can have this. Thanks for this Devon - it's really the conversation that should have been had from the start.

Just added 2 Gen 5 XR15 Blues over a 40 breeder. I have to say it looks a lot like T5’s with a little shimmer. Color blending still looks nowhere near as good as Kessil. Had a screw loose out of the box. Had a very difficult time getting it tight. Was not a happy camper when purchasing such expensive lighting.

I have decided to go with the pro after I realized that pro is basically the old color set up of radion 4th generation and the spectrum everyone uses. BUT If I decide to run ab plus am I going to regret gett in it beacuse I have to dial back like he said. Its to bad i have never seen what the ab looks like and cant find someone running it in a local LFS!

AB+ is bluey but not too blue. If you like blue look it works.. I have AB+ ish out side of my 3-4 hours of peak white period :) You will like the pros, they give you lots of flex ability... most people dont run the lights at 100% anyways

i have a cube measuring 32x32 inches and 20 deep 90 gallons approximately what would be the best setup for this 1 xr 30 or 2 xr15 or something else doubt between the orphek v4 or the radion g5

One XR30 would do the job. 2x 15 would also work but you likely dont need the extra spread.. if your on a budget could try 1x15 and always add a second later if required.

Power cycle your lights then restart the app so it’s all fresh then try again

I have a 120 gallon tank that is mixed but sps dominant (4' x 2' x 2'). I currently have 4 Kessil 360X for the tank with great shimmer. Should I switch over to the new G5 with 2 X15 and 1 X30. This way my corals will get used to the light as they grow instead of a sudden switch in the future which can cause some shock to the corals as well as change in color due to different spectrum.

Your call. if your happy with what you have keep it and save the money. If you feel you need more of a blanket of light then you could always upgrade to the G5 and sell your kessils. The G5's will be kinda in the middle of a led and t5 in terms of less shadowing/spread and shimmer

Hello, I got the xr15 g5 blues, i still do not understand what cyan and lime are is the cyan suppose to be the closest thing to green? If I wanna run green should I use Cyan? Thank you for any advice.

So he went with the pro but wants to run AB+ which is what the blue was designed for. There is no point getting a pro and dialling the whites down to 10%. Overall output will be nearly 1/2 that of a blue at full power.

You can make it whiter (at full power) with the pros. depends on the look you like. He also did mention he likes slightly whiter version.

Question i have 2 XR30 gen5 blues over my 90 gallon acropora dominate tank. how can i control them individually the reason is my aqua scape is higher on one side than the other. I would like to get a little more par on the lower acros. Thank you for your help

Simple way is to put each one on its own tank in mobious. Alternative you could set the fan speed low for one of them to let. Thermal throttle it lower
