Lyrics: It's time the tale were told Of how you took a child And you made him old It's time the tale were told Of how you took a child And you made him old You made him old Reel around the fountain Slap me on the patio I'll take it now Oh Fifteen minutes with you Well, I wouldn't say no Oh, people said that you were virtually dead And they were so wrong Fifteen minutes with you Oh, well, I wouldn't say no Oh, people said that you were easily led And they were half-right Oh, they, oh, they were half-right, oh It's time the tale were told Of how you took a child And you made him old It's time that the tale were told Of how you took a child And you made him old You made him old Oh, reel around the fountain Slap me on the patio I'll take it now Ah, oh Fifteen minutes with you Oh, I wouldn't say no Oh, people see no worth in you Oh, but I do. Fifteen minutes with you Oh, I wouldn't say no Oh, people see no worth in you I do Oh, I, oh, I do Oh I dreamt about you last night And I fell out of bed twice You can pin and mount me like a butterfly But take me to the haven of your bed Was something that you never said Two lumps, please You're the bee's knees But so am I Oh, meet me at the fountain Shove me on the patio I'll take it slowly Oh Fifteen minutes with you Oh, I wouldn't say no Oh, people see no worth in you Oh, but I do Fifteen minutes with you Oh, no, I wouldn't say no Oh, people see no worth in you I do Oh, I, I do Oh, I do Oh, I do Oh, I do

Adam, I’ve really enjoyed listening to this and your version of Heaven Knows, which I’m attempting to learn. Only the bass tab is currently available in Pro Tabs, and I’m hoping that the guitar tab will be available by the time I’m ready to try this one. I would really like to find a Pro Tab or an instructional video for Never Had No One Ever; maybe that’s a future project for you? In any case, thanks again for your videos and tabs.

Got it. Thanks again, Adam, my Tabs app defaulted to the Bass version. Keep up the good work. I might even try Stone Roses when I’ve exhausted The Smiths posts. I haven’t decided whether Johnny Marr is a genius or a sadistic bastard; he certainly knows how to make the guitar difficult for me.

Nice cover. I have a question, what's the original tuning? Standart?
@HeadlessGuitarPlayer4 жыл бұрын
During this period, Marr would tune his guitars up a whole step - F#, B, E, A, C#, F#. Wouldn't recommed that though unless you set up a guitar to hold that tension over the neck and/or use super-light strings. These days he uses a capo.
@mustang99024 жыл бұрын
@@HeadlessGuitarPlayer So i should tune my guitar in standart and put the capo on the second fret? That's all? I'm pretty much new into these things haha

Not sure, but he uses that Emadd9 - Cma7#11 (adjusted for capo) guitar move on other songs from this era - Pretty Girls Make Graves is one example

@@HeadlessGuitarPlayer Non-guitarist trying this on keyboard. The 9th over E ends up being the same tone as the sharp 11 over C, right? Thanks.

@genghizchen4 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure this is just a coincidence. It's not a very unusual riff to play on a guitar since this particular chord shape just allows so many note combinations. Besides, I remember Reel around the fountain was one of the very first Smiths songs, probably predating release of the Police song. Just my 2 cents.
@TachibanaRealEstate4 жыл бұрын
Genghiz Chen every breath you take was released as a single almost exactly a year before reel around the fountain was released as a single, but probably correct on it being a coincidence
