Musicians... Can't even take their craft seriously. An artist would be shedding tears, putting their self in the moment when they wrote the song, connecting with the audience, creating an atmosphere of whatever it is they are sending as a message to the world. In this case, It sounds like rejection, heartbreak and loss. Music's lost it's art/magic though out the years. Being in a band, you get money, women, and recognition... no need to hold onto the soul stuff.
