"All I Do Is Think of You" is a ballad single released by The Jackson 5 as the B-side to the group's single, "Forever Came Today" on the Motown label in 1975, and was the final charted single the group issued as The Jackson 5 before they left Motown for CBS the following year. It was featured on their final Motown album, Moving Violation.
In 1989, new jack swing/contemporary R&B group, Troop, recorded a cover version off their Attitude album.[1] Produced by Chuckii Booker, this version went to number one on the R&B singles chart for a week in the summer of 1990. - wikipedia

There was no auto tunes in the late 80s and 90s either. The fact is TROOP''s version sounds better because it's an improved production of the Jacksons rendition of the song. However, I think Michael's vocals are still unbeatable in it's purity and smoothness. That alone makes me prefer the Jacksons version.

Omg! Micheal's VOICE! So pure, and angelic...I'm going with the Jackson 5, but I do like how Troop made it more of an upbeat tempo. it's a Jackson 5 classic, but Troop did do it justice.

Growing up, all I had heard was the Troop version. When I first heard the original, it changed my whole perspective of the song. The tempo and simplicity made you focus purely on the vocals and Mike's vocals after unchallenged, certainly not by any member of Troop, no diss. So gotta go with J5 for making a beautiful, slightly mid tempo ballad

I like Troop's version more, too... sometimes, the remake is better. A lot of people aren't willing to admit that. For instance, Luther Vandross does the definitive version of "A House Is Not a Home." Whitney Houston pretty stole "I Will Always Love You" from Dolly Parton and made it HER song. Also, I think Jodeci does a better version of "Lately." It is what it is.

It’s crazy, because I’ve never heard the Jackson 5 version until today. But, when TROOP released this I thought 💭 “this sounds like something Michael Jackson would sing. 🤷🏾‍♂️

J5 all day. Their production was classic. Troop pulled it off vocally, but those drum machines make their version sound dated.

You can't say that unless you have a live Troop version to compare it too. I'm sure someone can find a live version of troop's onstage. I think both have better song that could've been posted.

It's hard to beat or improve on the original. It is because of The Jackson Five that the song is even worth singing. They set the standard for the song, so whoever does the song would at least have to match their energy. Troop did well enough singing with the conviction of their era, (the time when they performed it). It is hard to match Michael Jackson's singing skills. He was indeed The Golden Child!!! Troop did well.

Nothing about Troop’s version was smoother! But that’s also what makes it unique lol. Troop was in a different era...when Teddy Riley was introducing his New Jack Swing sound; hard beats with RnB and Soul music. J5’s version was the softer, smoother melodic version! 🙂💙

I dig the arrangement of the remake, and the harmonies are on point for both, but MJ and his brothers earn the nod here. Written and produced by Brian Holland (of THE hitmaker songwriting production team Holland-Dozier-Holland) and Michael Lovesmith, I like how the vocals fall into the song and make it sound like an elementary schoolboy's song. Booker is outstanding as a producer and singer, but the vocals sound "oversung" and it comes off more like a college man's make-out song. It's all in the interpretation as with many covers. I'll listen to either of them all day, but it's the original that wins this one.
