I loved J.C Chandor's Margin Call, i was suprised when i saw he's directing this movie, I'll probably give it a watch just for him but im quite skeptical..hope its better than i think lol

Good conversation. I'll be skipping Kraven. I plan to finally see Gladiator 2.. want to see it in the theater before it goes to streaming (some movies leave the theater so fast now days). The Order with Jude Law looks pretty good.. I might try to catch that as well.

Saw "Kraven" last night, and I didn't hate it. I was awake and engaged , unlike Madame Web where I fell asleep and was told I was snoring. Aaron Taylor Johnson is a very charismatic lead, I can definitely see him as Bond now more than ever.

I just saw it in Australia tonight. I enjoyed it. I wish there were better reviews for it, especially after J.C's interview. It's a shame it's come after the terrible Madame Web. Sean, your Hobbs and Shaw call 😅 Also, what was the story that was beeped out?

Same here - just came back from it. People are piling on this film. It's taking in all the residual shit from the previous Sony spin-offs - and it doesn't deserve any of it. At this point, people also are just ready to hate it from a conceptual standpoint. Is it a mind blowing movie? No. Is it flawless? No, there are problems with the film (mostly some shoddy CG, which is the usual trap these films fall into when they feel obligated to deliver on the comic book spectacle part of the thing) but overall I found them to be less egregious than most other comic book based films that ended up getting glowing reviews. Movie is a solid 7/10. The audience score on RT is on the money. I left the theater pleased and happy I shelled out the bucks. If people can just forget about the Spider Man element and go in expecting a high concept 90s style R-rated action movie, I can't see them walking away disappointed.

Jake, Hugh Grant nominated for Heretic in comedy/musical makes perfect sense. It's a musical don't you remember Grant kept playing the song The Air That I Breathe. (LOL)

I’m going to come out and say, Kraven is not a great film, but it is NOWHERE as bad as people are saying. This movie is a lot better than it has any right to be lol, and I’m not even a big comic book movie guy. This is STREETS AHEAD of the other Sony movies and even some of the proper McU movies.

Actually it wasn't. It was pretty bad. And Aaron Taylor Johnson lost the Kraven accent WHY? The CGI was also awful.

This movie is made for people who don't really give a fuck about Spider Man and just want to see a high concept 90s style R-rated action film in theaters. This movie has more in common with something like The Beekeper than it does anything within the MCU. Getting that type of film into theaters these days is a unicorn. So if it has to be delivered within the vehicle of a preexisting super hero franchise, then so be it: us fans of these types of films will take what we can get. The weakest parts of the film were the shoddy CG, where they obviously felt like they had to 'level up' and deliver something the audience has come to expect from a comic-book spectacle; that was a bad move but I understand why they felt like they had to do it. Chandor isn't an FX guy so the end result reflects that.
