Alexander Payne - "It's very refreshing getting a brand new question about this movie..." The boys do it again! Well done Kevin with that question.

GREAT Alexander Payne interview! Great questions. My favorite thing is how "Mr. Payne" confirms that audiences always relates to something in a movie that the filmmaker never intended. "The Holdovers" is certainly my "favorite" movie I've seen so far this year. it may not be the "best" (yet), but certainly my "favorite" right now.

The killer is in my top5 too. I've seen it 3 times already, and with each viewing, you see more details and complex choices that Fincher made. Fassbender with fav perfomance of the year. Amazing film. Jake need to settle down and watch it again!

The Holdovers, is such a fantastic film....wasn't anywhere on my radar but now it's one of my favorite movies of the year. Impeccable flick, wish there were more moviemakers like Mr Payne out there.

I really fucking love The Killer, and I can understand why some/most people don't connect with it. It's cold and unemotional methodical precision, executed very efficiently. I think this more restrained introverted style is an aspect often ignored in filmmaking, which is mostly focused on outward extroverted emotional stories. Which is very understandable. But this film does not give a fuck about that, and if you're a less emotional and more introverted person like myself, this film might do more for you. At least it did for me.

Ask him to dig up the original ending of The Descendants .. (I had the very last speaking role in that film!) 😂 now I have to become a famous actor so he can say “technically.. I was the first one to discover him!”

1:13:24 At exactly 1:58:00 into Oppenheimer, we actually get to 'know' the Trinity test worked post the shockwave as Frank explicitly says in the moment "It worked". So very appropriate choice for that time by Nolan. The sad thing is, in the Hindi dubbed version, they just simply mentioned it as 1 hr 45 min which shows you the dubbing directors didn't even know the meaning behind it. 😤 Also, I noticed a total of 6 lines in the Hindi dubbed version that were incorrectly dubbed at varying degrees.

Speaking of catching up on Netflix, I'd like to hear your thoughts on their other Oscar slate - Nyad, Rustin, Nimona, The Deepest Breath, May December, and the upcoming Society of the Snow and Maestro! I'm assuming something is cooking with Maestro 👀

Kevin the balloons & the thumbs up come from the latest iOS update, maybe there's a tool somewhere in the settings that'll let you tweak that.

The Killer is a very weak script for a super well directed film.
