Moon se unió a The Who en 1964.

In 1966 they were definitely not in the same league as the Beatles or even the Stones. They would however, eventually make up for this rather mundane period starting with Tommy, then Live at Leeds, Who's Next, Odds n' Sods, Quadrophenia, Who By Numbers, and Who Are You, all great albums in my opinion.

Honestly compared with the stones i think the who personalities were more real of course they have their issues but if you see here look so lovely young and espontaneus nothing dark. with the rolling stones i think they were more perverse personalities

The Rolling Stones were different because even in their early years they were aiming big. They wanted to be sex symbols and also be viewed as the generation that will take over by their unbreakable will and intellect, against the nonsense of their ancestors. They were taking themselves seriously. They even looked way more mature than the who despite their closeness in age. Keith Richards, the youngest Stone, being same age with Roger Daltrey, the oldest Who. The Who at this time were still having day jobs or other main occupations, not believing that their group would last. That's why the Who look more playful and innocent. They were having fun and were making music about being the young men they were. Go listen to more interviews. You'll see how the whole mentality of these 2 groups were different.

@@VixxKong2 The Who did not still have day jobs in 1966. Being in a band was their full time job.

@@VixxKong2 I don't know the answer to your question, but I feel like their first hit was "I Can't Explain" and that came out in December 1964. I'm going to guess that 1965 is the latest anyone in the band might have had a day job, but I'm just spitballing.

Big Who fan here but, wow IMO they did some real crap until they found their musical footing with Tommy. They were just throwing everything against the wall in the early days and seeing what stuck. The first 3 albums were just typical 60's crap with only the occasional bright spot single.

Love Entwistle plays trumpet and bass just like I've done for 40 years. Keith was a great drummer, but as anyone who heard his solo album knows. Bless his heart, but e's a terrible singer.

Nah, it's a cool, oddball little tune (both pre-Who versions are pretty wacky), The Who have the definitive version, goofy as it is. Love the lyrics. "Down at Drag City, she's first in her class/There's nothing on the freeway she don't pass/ All the girls want to take a ride with me but there's only one seat in my Bucket-T!" Ha!
