I mean you have to chose the most calm, normal, and predictable person to be an astronaut in the first place. You are placing an enormous amount of stress and pressure on them, so yeah, they are the best of the best. No wonder these guys are pretty cool.

Astronauts install Solar unit on ISS JEFF FRANKS Houston, Oct.30: Astronauts made a tricky job look easy on Tuesday when they used a robot arm to latch a 17.5 tonne solar girder to its new home at the end of the ISS. Arm operators Daniel Tani and Stephanie Wilson could not see the 35-foot-long girder's destination from inside the station and had to guide it in with directions from from Spacewalkers Scott Parazynski and Douglas Wheelock. "Looks good, spaceman," one of the Spacewalkers said as they performed the task. NASA had said the installation of the truss, which sat atop the station for seven years awaiting the move to its permanent location, was one of the most challenging manoeuvres ever on the $100 billion Space outpost. It also was critical because the next key task will be to unfurl the 240-feet-long (73-metre) solar panels folded up inside the unit. - REUTERS Courtesy: Hindustan Times Kolkata Wednesday 31 October 2007 Vol: VII No: 258.

Interesting remark on vomiting after splashdown from Bob - my understanding is that after a week or so in zero-g you simply don't get uncomfortably dizzy after that, until you reacclimate to Earth g.
@jonwharf41984 жыл бұрын
@Kyle Denny Yes, I understand that, but it's much the same effect as I understand it. On their training sea trials, acclimated to Earth gravity, they would likely have been seasick. Coming back from the ISS, acclimated to freefall, my prediction is that they won't be.
