Couple things you need to know Dilon. 1. The Raptors in the movies are based on the Dienonychus 2. The T-Rex that was in San Diego was the Father not the Mother because if you remember the Hunter guy said he wanted to hunt the Male T-Rex. You know because hunters always hunt the Buck not the Doe.

Im genuinely surprised Roland could tell them apart in such dark places. If it was in day time it would be easy to tell, he wasn’t much of a palaeontologist, but he could still make out who is who.

They also say that they wanted to go airboat as fast as they could. Since they don’t want the female to find them before they take off.

Velociraptors were probably about 100lbs and the size of a large turkey or medium-ish sized dog, so definitely not as big as they are in the movies but not quite as small as a chicken. Deinonychus is another type of raptor that was closer to what is portrayed in these movies. (This isn’t meant to come off as rude, just wanted to share what relevant stuff I know)

41:10 The pterodactyls were originally in a scene involving gliders and helicopter at that village center but they removed that and substituted it with the San Diego sequence. That's why the Pteranodons are there at the end shot (probably was already being worked on before the other scene was cut).

A well deserved thumbs up, just for that 1-minute-Eddie-part alone. 😁 Seriously, that man did nothing wrong and helped everyone to survive, only to then get ripped apart. 29:44 I would use the chaos (of many people running away in several directions) to also start running, but then quickly jump into one of the thick bushes nearby, lay down and wait until i hear the T-Rex' stomping slowly disappear in the distance as he's chasing after all the people that are still running away. Then a few moments later I'd crawl out of my hiding spot and leave the area in the opposite direction, still using the environment to stay unseen as best as I can.

5:41 Procompsognathus (Or as InGen calls these, Compsognathus, or "compies")? Something that small would have preyed mainly on insects, or as carnivores they'd be scavengers or hunt any animals that are just as small as them- these do have venomous bites to weaken live prey so they can hunt as a swarm. The little girl could have gotten bit, but was seemingly rescued before the compies could finish their hunting methods. 8:12 Don't worry about it. In the first movie Ian only mentions to Grant that he has a few kids but has yet to keep a wife; this is the first time we're actually meeting one of his kids. It's also only been 4 years in between movie events, and Kelly is definitely older than that, so he definitely had her before the first movie lol 15:35 (For the T-Rex they used a goat as bait. For the cow you're thinking of when they fed the Velociraptors) 23:45 You're absolutely right about real-life Velociraptors. However, for the JP franchise, we have to remember that these versions are genetically engineered species- their original DNA is incomplete so they were filled in with modern animal DNA and growth hormones. These raptors are either Deinonychus that they misnamed, or Velociraptors (in main genome) that were given considerable growth steroids. 25:25 (Lol, his name was Eddie Carr.) 25:34 For this movie, I'm pretty sure they filmed in northern California, indicated by the redwood trees for the forest.

Okay I am back because I never got a chance to finish watching because detracted by kids too. But however, to answer your question in Jurassic Park 1. Grant and Ian talk about kids right before he T-Rex broke out of its cage. They talked about kids and marriage. He had been married 3 times before, and he had 3 kids he mentions, and now he has a new girlfriend in this one.

Right. This isn’t bad, but it’s no where near the original and it’s all downhill from here. I saw it in the movie theatre, which is probably the only way to see a movie like this. There’s very little plot beyond cliches, so it relies heavily on the action scenes, which are good for the most part. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but James Cameron writes more believable kids than Spielberg. John Connor in Terminator 2 talks like a real kid. This girl doesn’t. She wants him to ground her and send her to her room? What kid talks like that? She’s at the age where she should be thinking of her parents as more of a brick wall than actual help, but instead, she sounds like what every parent wishes their kid would say. If there was a kids or teen movie made where kids talked like real kids, some lunatic parents’ group would boycott it. T2 got away with it because it was an R rated movie.

"The compies didn't look dangerous at first sight. They were the size of a hen and walked nervously like a hen. But he (John Hammond) knew that they were venomous. Their bites delivered a slow-acting poison that they used to kill wounded animals. small theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Triassic Period, about 222 to 219 million years ago. Procompsognathus was named by Eberhard Fraas in 1913. He named the type species, P. triassicus, on the basis of a poorly-preserved skeleton found in Württemberg, Germany. Procompsognathus may have been about 1.2 meters long (4 feet). A biped, it had long hind legs, short arms, large clawed hands, a long slender snout with many small teeth, and a stiff tail. It lived in a relatively dry, inland environment and may have eaten insects, lizards, and other small prey.

Sad truth is the movie John and Book John two very different behaviors, but in the book, he wasn't as nice, and in the films, they made him more of a gentle old man who wouldn't want anyone to get harmed. But he's not a bad man in the movies. The books totally different.

Australia cinema tickets have always been expensive. Growing up with not alot of money, the money on a ticket could be used over a couple of days of food for all my family. We only had 1 TV until I got older. By the time I was old enough to have my own TV, I worked from 6am to 6pm every night until I moved to Spain.

Given that Dakotaraptor, Utahtaptor and Deinonychus were only recognized years after the first park was closed, would make sense that the geneticists just found "raptor" dna, assumed it was all the same animal, made a viable genome and ended up with psychotic abominations. Give a housecat the body of a tiger and i reckon it'd be as much a problem as the raptors. Velociraptor is just the name InGen patented the animals under at this point.

They actually ARE able to create dinosaurs, now. Scientists did it by reverse engineering a chicken in the egg, and it had a tail and teeth and raptor like wings and everything. But they terminated it. You can look it up. No guarantee it would have survived to adulthood, but still. We did it.

lol, I can tell you're Australian. In the intro "Boy she's dead, she's dead. You're gonna make it hungry for meat!" . . . "By crikey, she's a lovely little compy! Whoa that compy has a snap in her bite! Crikey!" And that's another episode of The Compsognathus Hunter X3 Your wife is using the wrong spell on the keyboard. Sit her down and be like "Tanya! If you want to fix the keyboard; Avada Kedavra is not the correct spell!" X3 San Diego Chargers, I didn't know ether at the time when I saw it in 2001 on VHS. It's the NFL Football team (what we call Football; it's not what you call Soccer, lol). I don't get it, Peter Ludlow is talking about Animal Attractions. The Chargers, not only is it Football, but their logo is a lightning bolt, like at least here in Chicago, we have the Bears, so they could make that connection to "Animal" Attractions with the Bears (though no one comes to Chicago for the Bears, they come here for the Cubs :D ) Speaking of connecting to Animals, reminds me of Snow Dogs. Cuba Gooding Jr. is in Alaska about to be killed by a Grizzly Bear. And he's like "I'm a big Bears fan! My man, Smokey the Bear! Yogey! Walter Payton!" XD Hammond is a great person, he's just an ambition idiot, lol.

Fun (but morbid) fact! In the novel, the Compies (the tiny dinos who swarmed the little girl) were even more dangerous than the Raptors. No children have died in the film franchise (as far as I know, at least, I haven't seen Dominion yet), but there was a scene in the novel where a mother goes to check on her baby and a pack of Compies were already in the process of devouring the infant.

I saw this in the movie theatre, as I was a huge fan of the original. I enjoyed it. I thought the daughter was cute (I was 14). The acting is pretty flat and the characterizations are awful, but nobody watches a Jurassic Park movie for storytelling. They just want a couple of jokes and a lot of CGI dinosaurs (which don’t look as convincing as in the original) attaching humans. They basically killed a lot of the stuff from the first film, starting with the fact that Jeff Goldblum suddenly has only 1 daughter, which is verified in this film. In the original, Dr Malcolm states that he has 5 kids for a few different ladies. But who wants continuity? Let’s get to dinosaurs ripping people in half! It’s all downhill from here. I like some of these actors, but they don’t seem as engaged as in other films. And let’s be honest, this Hammond guy (played by the amazing Richard Attenborough) is kind of a nut. He’s a typical bored, rich guy who spends his money on ridiculous, potentially damaging things to humanity and other living things. Granted, these rich guys in real life with their phallic rocket ships trying to go to space seem almost sane by comparison. Spielberg is still great, but we’re getting into a formula here.
