The house Rebekah is trapped in at the end is the same house from the beginning of the episode that Klaus had spelled to trap Kol's allies. Rebekah's seeming betrayal of Klaus here is actually part and parcel of her betrayal from last season- this was after she's been woken up so she's trying to gain Klaus' confidence so she can betray him ultimately. She just didn't think Kol's plan would work, so instead she used it to shore up her own position. Also, it's fun to note this happened in late 1914, whereas the Salvatores had some notable flashbacks of their own in 1912 (with Finn's Sage) in S3, and the S3 episode "All My Children" which you all referenced when the siblings were lined up on the stairs had Damon say that Kol looked familiar. It didn't end up getting used as a plotline, but originally there were plans to have had Damon and Kol meet around those years (and technically, fans can still come up with "maybe they did" hypotheticals). I've been eagerly awaiting you all reaching this episode, and its Rebekah reveal, and its Esther reveal, and its bonfire scene (that selfie is a pretty significant pic for fans of the show). It's a fun one to compare to the TVD S4 Christmas episode (two years earlier in show time) wherein Hayley revealed Tyler's plans of rebellion to Klaus and he then slaughtered the hybrids to "O Holy Night" (poor them, poor Carol Lockwood, not poor Esther). On an interesting note, which I'm sure you might have realized, this is the first time we see Esther and Mikael interact in a thousand years, show timeline wise. But a reminder to Bryce, Esther is the "Original" witch as in the witch of the Originals (the one who made them), not the original witch to exist. And now she's just a transitioning vamp. As for the new actress Rebekah is inhabiting, that's Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who like multiple TVDU alum joined the Arrowverse cast, in "Legends of Tomorrow" as two major characters, including Amaya Jiwe (Vixen from the 1940s), and had a bit role in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" (was one of the final candidates for Rey, actually).

Kol is Him 😭. Love him and Man had every reason to betray them. Can't help but not feel for them especially rebekah since she's the one that got him daggered in 1914. And I find it funny how literally like 10 years later, she herself got daggered when she chose to be with stefan IN Chicago and Klaus daggered her. Guess it's her own fault cause Klaus could have been taking a nap instead of her and kol.

Bryce, the new Rebekah is played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers. She's played both Amaya Jiwe / Vixen and Charlie on The CW superhero series "DC's Legends of Tomorrow". Maisie has a main role in the upcoming second "Interview With the Vampire" spin-off ( the first is "Mayfair Witches" ) "The Talamasca", which is dropping in 2025.
