Reese Lansangan - Home (Official Lyric Video)

This year on January 31st, Home turned five years old. I wasn’t able to post anything to commemorate it because I didn’t even realize it has been that long. It’s one of those songs with an alluring and mythical history: came to me in a dream. finished in one sitting. released for a high-profile wedding.
At the time that I was writing Home, I wasn’t in a good place, emotionally. I also felt like I had absolutely no experience OR authority to be talking about enduring love. Now I’m supposed to be writing for a wedding? But I had to say yes, the way I do when big and scary opportunities land on my lap. I say yes without thinking of the fear first. Then I’ll just figure it out along the way. Love, it turns out, is a universal emotion. Despite my doubts, I had it in me to write this song from an honest and true place.
To this day, Home is still my most popular song. I still get a lot of emails asking if they could play this at their wedding. When I would do meet-and-greets (a time long gone now lol huhu), every now and then there’d be a couple saying that Home is their song. It’s the song that scored their falling in love. What a privilege to be able to write a song that becomes part of people’s consciousness when they think about their greatest loves.
Now that Home has turned five, and in human years it is now running off to a playground somewhere, I wanted to give it what it should have had a long time ago. Enjoy!

I remember listening to this song when my elder sister was in her 1st year of University. We are the most closest to each other, and she holds a special place in my heart. We had NEVER been apart from each other, always cuddled at night and she taught me maths. We played games,talked about life,etc. The day she went to college, i didn't cry. I simply didn't know how to feel. But then one day a friend of mine forwarded this song to me on whatsapp. I just clicked it and listened to the whole song in one go. And listening to these very lines, i cried that day. I was feeling lost because there was no guidance, i wasn't that open to my parents about my school life or personal life, i didn't have that many friends to express my feelings, and on top of that my sis wasn't there with me. I was slowly deteriorating in my studies(at the time of my first exam in june-july). But this song gave me strength. It made me realise that my sister is always there with me.I started scoring grades better as well . It's amazing how a song can literally be your happy home.
