Always interested to see how other bookbinders work. We have several normbinders with 24 autofed feeding stations and a 30 clamp binder. The autofeeders are fed with bundled signatures of up to 4000 sigs and the feeding line has an autoreject station. We have full automation and strapping, shrink wrapping and stacking of final product is done with palletisers, allowing us to run at around 8-10k copies per hour for a 300 page book. We are fortunate to have 32 page web presses, so this makes like easier allowing us to have less signatures. We only have 3 workers on the machine for anything under a 300 page book and we will put down 45-55k per 7.5 hour shift. Thanks to the automation nobody is working hard and is able to have a little five minute sit down every 10-15 minutes

We have recently had a 2008 Corona binder installed and the operator is still getting to grips with it, but recently run a 460 page magazine through at 12k per hour, managing to put about 70k copies on the floor per shift. They did run a smaller job through ( around 240 pages) at the top speed of 18k cph and did manage to get over 100k per shift and over the three shifts did put down 260k in a day, some operators chose not to run at the top speed though.
