the very beginning of this video reminded me of being in shows during my child hood. I would read the script and record myself on a tape recorder. I would pause when my lines were there. I maybe had like three in the whole show, but I memorized the entire thing cause I was so excited. Ever since I loved it. Now I play a lot of DND and my notes/prep look exactly like my notes did back then! Thanks for sharing your life, you rock.

Why is her being thirty significant? Are you too old for broadway after 30?
@cbh41666 ай бұрын
no it’s part of a series of videos about women’s careers

definitely not loll, Sutton Foster is still starring in/leading shows at 49. Bette Middler was starring in Hello Dolly at age 70. I think they wanted to point out that she got her first starring role at 30, when a lot of performers have a fear of a short shelf life or never getting the lead. from the performers I know, getting that first lead/starring role is the hardest part, but you can keep a healthy career for years after that.

My daughter cheered for the same school and was a couple of years older. I remember Amber being tiny with a Pebbles type pony tail and that same smile. I didn't really know Amber but her mom and I use to sit and gossip during the games about the other moms. She definitely has her Mama's smile!

A girl I graduated from high school with has a similar story to this, and she's in her 40s now. We went to a performing arts high school, I was there for ballet but eventually got into musical theatre, and she was all about musical theatre, she majored in it in university, and has been in New York since, she's only been lead a few times, but she's still pushing and working

Wtf is this the title of this video? Out here making 30 sound geriatric

Because the role of Marsha is typically one played by someone a bit older than 30. But it’s also for the series

she’s 30????? i honestly thought she was like 24, maybe 27 at MOST!!

She is gorgeous and looks like a healthy, glowing 30 year old. People don't just turn into decrepit zombies at 30 haha
@armadillo10824 ай бұрын
@@elinat2414 yeah i know that bruh i just genuinely thought she was 24, it has nothing to do with being ‘healthy and glowing and turning into zombies’ her vibe just gives ‘im 24 living my broadway dream’ imo

Looks like a lot of her routine is self-imposed. She probably doesn’t need to do half the stuff she’s doing.
@FlyBoyMT6 ай бұрын
And that’s probably why she’s on Broadway and you’re not. Only those who put in the effort not only in their work but to take care of themselves can keep up with the rigor.
