This week on Try Living With Lucie, R29's Lucie Fink creates her own DIY homemade makeup! From face to eye, Lucie mixes and matches her own cosmetics using simple ingredients and recipes from the internet! Watch the video above to see how she fares!
ABOUT SERIES
Try Living With Lucie follows our favorite R29 millennial, Lucie Fink, as she dives headfirst into social experiments - five days at a time. From a week without sugar to full-blown street performing; there is nothing she won't try!
Mascara
Ingredients:
Almonds
Vaseline
Sterilized Used Mascara Tube
Instructions:
Heat almonds on high until blackened & burned.
In a ziplock bag, roll out almonds with rolling pin until powdered.
Mix almond powder & vaseline.
Melt down power & vaseline mixture.
Funnel into mascara tube.
Blue Eyeliner
Ingredients:
Sterilized Used Eyeliner Pot
NYX Water Eyeshadow Palette in Aqua Blue
MAC Fix Plus
Eyeliner Brush
Instructions:
Scrape eyeshadow from palette into mixing bowl.
Add fix plus and blend.
Fill empty eyeliner pot.
Lip KIt
Ingredients:
Matte Liquid Foundation
Pink Matte Blush
Pink Matte Eyeshadow
Sterilized Used Eyeshadow Pot
Olive Oil
Lip Brush
Instructions:
Pour liquid foundation into mixing bowl.
Scrape blush and eyeshadow into bowl.
Add drops of olive oil and blend.
Transfer mixture to pot and apply with brush.
Lip Balm
Ingredients:
¾ cups Coconut Oil
¼ cups Cocoa Butter
¼ cups Beeswax
Peppermint Oil
Sterilized Used Lip Balm Tin
Instructions:
On low heat melt the coconut oil, cocoa butter, and beeswax until liquified.
Add 2 to 3 drops of peppermint oil to tin.
Pour liquefied mixture on top.
Let mixture set in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes.
Loose Powder Foundation
Ingredients:
Bentonite Clay
Cocoa Powder
Beet Powder
Turmeric Powder
Strainer
Instructions:
Mix bentonite clay & cocoa powder until desired tone is reached.
Strain beet powder to omit beet fragments.
Add beet powder for pink undertones.
Add small amount of turmeric.
Concealer
Ingredients:
EOS Lip Balm
Beeswax
Coconut Oil
Liquid Foundation
Instructions:
Remove EOS Lip Balm and grate from container.
Add equal parts foundation, beeswax, and coconut oil into a bowl.
Microwave for 30 second intervals.
Place grate back in the container.
Pour mixture back into EOS container and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Brow Gel
Ingredients:
Hair Gel
NYX Eyebrow Kit
Clean Mascara Wand
Airtight Container
Instructions:
Add half of a spoonful of gel to a bowl.
Scrape in desired shade from eyebrow kit.
Blend.
Remover
Ingredients:
⅛ cups Coconut Oil
⅛ cups Apricot Kernel Oil
Lavender Oil
Vitamin E Oil
Cotton Pads
Clean Mason Jar
Instructions:
Place cotton pads in mason jar.
Over low heat, liquefy coconut oil.
One liquified, add apricot oil, 3 drops lavender oil, and 2 drops vitamin e oil.
Blend.
Pour mixture in jar over cotton pads.
Refrigerate for 1 hour.

If you have acne, please don't use coconut oil. Swap it out for sweet almond oil or jojoba oil.
