Things will happen the way they're supposed to for you! In a way I think not going to Drama School can be quite a positive thing, your Acting training can co-exist with earning money and you're not glued to an institution for three years- Obviously Drama school is a great way to get yourself seen and get your foot in the door but even then, there aren't any guarantees. You'll get there if you keep going, working on your craft, meeting like minded actors and creatives, gig by gig. A good actor is a good actor, Drama school or not!

Very cool to hear about all the auditions over the past 3 years. To address that teacher in your A Levels, that was totally inappropriate to tell you not to apply to a certain school! How classicist. They displayed a very closed minded mentality. What would have been much more useful would have been to sit you down and go over the types of schools available and their costs. Then go over your options, such as scholarships or ask you parents to come in for a brainstorm on how to afford the different types of schools. I find no one teaches "personal finance" in any schools. Not even if you study economics. It's a gripe I have with the education system. Noone taught me how to apply for a job and how to negotiate for a salary. Not even how to handle a household budget. When you think about it these things are as basic to education as learning to tell time or to read instructions. They just teach you how to deal with numbers, but they don't teach you the practical use of them in daily life (income and budget). Somehow, they expect everyone will figure that part out on their own. There's a clear discrepancy between those whose parents taught them how to budget and how to negotiate for a salary, and those whose parents didn't. I could go on forever. I think you're wise and your choices are well founded. Continue to do you and you'll get there. The journey is what we're in 99% of the time, not the destination. And remember that there's aways another "there" to get to. PS: I loved hearing about your singing lessons!

Thank you so much and that's so true actually. We don't learn all our funding options in school. We don't learn budgeting. No one teaches you how to do your tax return. It's wild because it's one of the most important life skills. But thank you I hope I do keep progressing and moving forward. Hope you're both well!
