The feeling is mutual. I'm a Filipino who moved to Canada (in BC to be specific) in 2021, been living here for more than 3 years now and it's really hard for me to make new friends. I'm now planning to move back to the Philippines in 2026.

the thing is. Even in the Philippines, there's tons of cultures. Evenry region is so widely different like it's a different country which makes it so beautiful.

The barrier was probably the cultural barrier. Once you understand, accept, and adapted the street culture in the PH you'll have an easier time making friends here. Your body language doesn't match the locals here, nothing wrong with you tho, it's just different. Hope you get to experience more of the Philippines soon. 🤙

@@keio4456 definitely! There was a huge cultural barrier, and I’m still learning everyday 😊

living in a new country means you have to adjust to the people and the environment... the country will not adjust to you!

If you don’t try to speak Tagalog you will never learn. If you want more subscribers and friends you should speak Tagalog.

Did your parents speak Tagalog with you in Canada? It all starts at home. One common trait of Filipinos abroad is to NOT teach Tagalog to their children. I guess it's the colonial mentality. You'll learn English outside of the house anyway.

yeah its the parents fault lol how can you not teach your kid your language, thats the most mind numbing idea for me
