The Honourable Harold Lovell, Antigua and Barbuda, CrimSL Adjunct Professor and Guest Lecturer, presented "Reflections on law, human rights and democratic leadership in contemporary Caribbean life" on November 27, 2024, at the OISE Nexus Lounge.
His talk was followed by an unrecorded live panel conversation with Professor Ann Lopez, Director of the Centre for Leadership & Diversity at OISE/UT, and Professor Kamari Clarke, Director of the Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies.
Presented by the 2024-2025 CrimSL Speaker Series and cosponsored by the Centre for Leadership and Diversity at OISE/UT and the Transnational Justice Project.

About Harold Lovell
With years of experience in leadership and government in Antigua and Barbuda, Harold Lovell, BA, LLB, M.Jur, has focused his life’s work on creating better social and economic outcomes.
He is a social justice and economic empowerment advocate with a strong belief in inclusive leadership and multi-stakeholder participation. His background in law, governance and politics has given him insights and experiences which he is eager to share.
Lovell is currently Adjunct Professor and Guest Lecturer at the Centre for Criminology & Sociolegal Studies at the University of Toronto, teaching CRI493H1 "Human Rights Law and the Post-Colonial Condition: The Caribbean Region" with Professor Kamari Clarke during the fall 2024 term.
