I think the main criticism many online viewers had was that it was so hard to find the content all in one place. If perhaps during the live event before people went they showed their exploration and spot challenge clips that would have helped. Hearing the explanation of how it wasn't supposed to be an AOM makes sense. When Travis won I knew about the other two days but as a viewer I hadn't been able to see his first two days of content (maybe one clip from the Exploration Day). It's not that people needed their hand held to explain the format (maybe some did that wasn't my issue though) it was that we hadn't had seen all three days before watching the winner crowned. Also the whole thing being broadcast on phones. As a viewer you could tell it would have been an amazing event to be at and it sounds like that was the point of the event they had planned, but like you said the expectation with art of motion is it will be this big spectacle for the whole community and it didn't feel like that.

I really think there should be live streams throughout the whole event maybe having secondary film makers to interview athletes and show a bit of bts a live stream of the athletes screening their videos would be👌

They filmed the third round on tiktok with a vertical video on phones. I had to get on Facebook to find the video. That's absolutely ridiculous. During the entire video, they never explained who was in first place from the previous days. So you have event that is hard to understand, hard to find, and hard to watch because of the video format.

It's Red Bull. We should expect more from them but creating new formats will always have issues. No one will remember in a week as they chase the next event

Still trying to understand the 2nd qualifier. Ed did his run in one shoot and everyone else spent 3hrs to get their clip with lots of different clips amalgamated, plus it looked like the camera man couldn’t keep up with Ed 🤷‍♀️

I don't like the film making thing for a competition. I'm sure its fun for the people involved, but I just want to see awesome runs in competition format. Cool films are something else (also great) but there are so many variables not related to parkour that each parkourist is not on an even playing field for a competition - do they get on with the film maker, do they come up with a good idea on the day, did the film maker get drunk the night before, etc etc. I don't care how good the competitors are at making films. I care how good they are at parkour!
