Bro Dr Tan Ho Soon elaborates in detail, the why and how of the practice of Dhamma from the 3 aspects of Dana, Sila and Bhavana. Sharing can be in terms of material goods, words of encouragement, giving confidence and sharing the Dhamma. Sharing reduces our selfishness.
When giving confidence, you become assured yourself. The practice must be done daily like exercise.
Sila- be mindful with right understanding to not harm others. We assure other beings we're harmless to them as well as to ourselves. I undertake the training to abstain from killing and hurting other beings. The condition for meditation is non remorse. which comes from virtue and precepts. Feeling totally at ease with no guilt and remorse. Then tranquility arises easily. Both monks and laypeople who follow the precepts are well respected for their virtue, integrity and sincerity. They can enter any assembly with confidence.
Bhavana_ not just meditation.
Anusati- recollection. Qualities of the Buddha, built out of right views and right understanding (Samma ditthi). Araham... Means. Examine the meaning. What is the Dhamma contained in this word.... Not just recite, Chanting.
Dhamma nussati.
Sangha nussati.
We can't be superficial in our practice. Reflection_ utmost importance but seldom Practiced.
Everyday, we must reflect, be really grounded in the practice the leads to the end of suffering. Focus on the essentials. Tackle the defilements. Will be happy.
Face the Dhamma mirror everyday. Reflect on our conduct from the time we wake up till we sleep. Eradicate bad habits by replacing with good ones.
