As I've got older, I've come to love this kind of music. Pure coincidence that I think of this TV programme and find out how good the theme really was!!!! I've just been tearily taken straight back to my childhood in 80's England. ❤😢

When I hear this music,it reminds me of going home on leave(from the army) and my lovely mom and dad would have their lunch during it.I haven't heard this for well over 30 years,probably nearer 40.Time in a bottle.Those days long since gone as have my parents.Welling up as I write this.

In the 1970s our whole family in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia used to sit and watch Sullivans on an old black and white tv without missing a serial. We were like part of the Sullivans family. Those were the days when RTM Msia had very quality programs like these.

Probably, the best Australian drama I have ever seen. A time of reflections. I use to look forward to seeing the Sulavans on my lunch break because my work place was only two minutes walk away from home.

My late Mother loved this programme, and followed it from start to conclusion, rarely missing an episode. She much preferred it in the 12.30pm slot, as opposed to 3.50pm to which it was moved for a short time during its lengthy run.

Where did you get the other versions of the theme? They were only ever used as incidental music in the show, under dialogue. Lovely to hear them in complete form. Vale Geoff Harvey.

ken francis Thanks for your message. The two slow variations here were occasionally used as closing themes during sad storylines (and the final episode), so I ripped them from there. I have another piano variation of the main theme (again occasionally used over the credits) which I will upload at some point. I’m aware of some other variations used in the show but couldn’t find “clean” copies. A beautiful piece of music (originally not written for The Sullivans but for a film called Reflections, hence the title). RIP Geoff Harvey.
