The original club mix of this symbolizes the beginning and the end of a quasi-relationship I had last year. I listened to the song at the beginning of when I started taking things seriously, and heard the song, and got so scared that I was gonna be the one to hurt him if things didn’t work out, and I would beg the universe to not let him get hurt, and that if anyone got hurt in the relationship that it would be me. Months later he became emotionally distant out of nowhere. Two days before the “breakup”, I listened to the track all the way through to the end where she says “I’m in love” over and over again, and it rang over and over again in my head, because I knew things were going to end, but the thought of walking away voluntarily scared me shitless because I knew I couldn’t stand him being with someone else. Now I can listen to this song with a sense of joy and nostalgia, because I overcame the excruciating pain I went through after everything…still makes me cry from time to time though.
