Been saying it for years, How come the English (the country that took parliamentary democracy around the world,) is the only country to have no parliament of its own.
@ChristineRead-ck1uq28 күн бұрын
Because it wasn't planned in the Maastricht Treaty. Devolution for Scotland and Wales was in the Treaty as was the unification of Ireland. Each would form an Atlantic Region of the European state. England, however, was to be split into 7 regions, one of them being London. This is why we suddenly had all these Mayoral elections. Each region was to have its own Council (not parliament) which would be directly answerable to Brussels and the UK Parliament would be no more. All those remainers in Parliament probably had nice little numbers lined up as part of those Councils or as MEPS. They'd have got all the perks the gravy train had to offer. One part of Southern England was due to be joined to Northern France as a region. It's all contained in the Fundamental Law of the European Union - the Treaty that would finally make the EU countries one entity. Brexit delayed it but it is now being discussed without the UK. It's why the EU didn't want a hard border in Ireland because they still plan unification.
@dave_ryan28 күн бұрын
@@ChristineRead-ck1uq This may all be true but it doesn't make it right, i care little what the eu want, i have no problem with the people however the eu parliament can jog on, The English bill of rights is still in full force and so to is the rest of England's constitution, the uk;s a fiction and cannot show proof i consent, and the law doesn't work on presumption let them show evidence of their claim,
