@@derjurator1157 The tories needed a defntive right wing leader who doesn't move around centerist/ left. If they do that there is a chance

Badenoch is very right wing. In a world where Farage didn't exist, I don't know if she'd even be in the Tories lmao. Jenrick was doing the whole right wing shtick to get votes in the leadership election just like Rishi Sunak did against Liz Truss. He used to be a Cameronite. Membership doesn't really mean anything, at most it just means the base of the party. Labour's members are young people and union workers, the Tories' are old rich people in the south, and Reform's are people who are worried about immigration despite living in a town with at most a few Polish people

Lets be honest here, its not the polish people are complaining about.

@@swanstarr1441 I'd take Polish any day over Pakistani Muslims or Sub-Saharan Africans. Have you been to British cities recently? Birmingham and London in particular, the majority of foreign people. It's like walking through Pakistan or Bangladesh. Even Newcastle is getting strangely "Diverse" Did we lose a war recently?

I get why ranked choice voting is dumb in America because of the 2 party system, but what are your thoughts on it in the UK? Labour picking up seats with less than 30% of the vote is really detrimental to a democracy.

The Conservatives and Reform will undercut each other again in 2029 and Labour will win. Kemi Badenoch was the worst of the possible Tory candidates they could have chosen to lead them. First Kemi and Nigel do not like each other and Farage has stated he wants to destroy the Conservatives and come after Labour. And calling Kemi anywhere near left or even centre is just funny and completely wrong. She’s on the right of the party and shows it with her shadow cabinet having people like Priti Patel, and Robert Jenrick. If the conservatives wanted any hope they should have chosen James Cleverly who is much better. Also the swing that was used to determine who would have a majority no longer works when you have 4 parties who are gaining double digits. It used to work then it was Conservative vs Labour. The lib dems will just win seats where labour knows they won’t win and don’t run anyone seriously. Also the conservatives lost their best asset in penny mordaunt. But who knows, again voters are very reactionary.

The mood of the nation is right and as someone who lives here it’s obvious. James Cleverly was just a centrist who was a continuation of the status quo as was Mordaunt whose only achievement was looking pretty when the queen died, on policy she was awful. How the hell would she be taken seriously in the working class seats when her key priority was transgender healthcare before the economy? The tories and Reform will do a deal as they aren’t dumb enough to undercut each other knowing labour are all time unpopular and are at the point of no return. Time will tell but losing centrists who stood for nothing is no great loss long term
