Bro check out the part 2 of this series, Sir explained about that Now the answer is:-Since we consider thin lenses containing negligible thickness, the distance between object/image and the focal point is equal to distance between object/image and the optic centre And the signs depend on the direction in which the light travel i.e The distances taken towards the direction of movement of light are considered as positive and whose of opposite to direction of light are considered negative
