I don't usually comment on videos, but your closet door conversion was excellent, as was your young lady apprentice. Well done

great video! I am in the middle of doing a similair job, installing x2 32x80 slab doors in a 72.5" opening. Good to see I am on the right path.

I want to do the exact opposite 😅 But I only find regular sliding or barn door hardware in my country. 🙄

can you please post a link to that door limiter you have on your main entrance door ?
@BurntFaceMan Жыл бұрын
I'm trying to do the exact opposite to this in my bedroom wardrobe, removing a old fashioned single swing door (That's annoyingly smaller than a standard "room size" door and doesn't allow access to the full size of the wardrobe. I want to widen the entrance to the wardrobe and have a single bi-fold door across the whole thing, so that the door doesn't swing out and hit my room door as it currently does. My concern is how do do the edging afterwards so it looks nice

Just go to Home Depot and pick up some casing. It’s pretty cheap. If you’re not sure what that is, just ask them. They’ll help you out.

✊ Is it possible to post a link or list the name of that type of door styled? Appreciate it .

Sure. Picked it up at Lowes. This should be the link: www.lowes.com/pd/American-Building-Supply-Shaker-Primed-White-2-Panel-Square-Solid-Core-MDF-Pine-Pre-Hung-Door-Common-24-in-x-80-in-Actual-25-375-in-x-81-313-in/1000861556

What can I do if my opening is too tall and I have to instal standard size doors ? For ex . My opening is 96 inches tall but I have to install 80 inch tall door
@thinkreno3 жыл бұрын
That’s no problem. After you’ve framed up the sides for your new width, just attach a 2 x 4 to fit horizontally in between those studs a half inch higher than your door. If your door is 80” high, run the 2x4 across at 80.5”. You don’t actually even need it for support, it’s just so that you have a way to attach your drywall. If your door is wider than 24 inches, add an additional vertical support piece halfway after you’ve installed the horizontal 2 x 4

@@thinkreno thank you so much @ Also , can I install the door hinges straight to dry wall without door jamb ?
@thinkreno3 жыл бұрын
@@luluo270 You do need a door jamb for the hinges. But if you want to do something like a sliding barn door, you could attach the track to the drywall...

I thought code for a utility door is a 36 inch door, not a 30 inch door
@thinkreno2 жыл бұрын
Around here, the only place you need a 36” door is an exit, as in your front door/back door. But the code might be different where you live…
