I like this. Seems like so few rack guys do videos or podcasts and now that I'm doing markets I wish there was more of them to listen to. Keep it up!

My forearms and elbows are eat up with discharge line burns. The engineers that design most of these racks apparently never had to wrench on them.

I've noticed that you didn't change the seal on filter shell cap. Few new seals are usually delivered inside of the can together with new filter core and it is very important to change them each time you open it. I like to put few drops of oil too which, I believe, helps new seal to "sit better" between metal surfaces. Why it is not allowed to use Brake Cleaners? I used R141 before it was banned and now I use only clean rag and dry nitrogen.

great video for new techs to see-things haven't changed much since i was servicing systems---except refrigerant shuffling-looks like co2 and hfc''s or future--keep vids coming-thanks

Were I work they send hvac guys out to work on racks and expect them to know how all this works and do it in an hour. I see you have several guys. My company would send one guy out and expect it be done in half the time it should take. And they wonder why equipment fails.

Can't believe that rack has CDS valves. Must have been a retrofit. My guess is if the oil is acidic and breaking down the system is probably running high super heat or high head. A system running properly doesn't need an oil change unless your changing the refrigerant.

Not a big deal most of the time, but the "liquid line" from the condenser to the receiver is called the drop leg or the drain leg. Out of the receiver, now it is the liquid line.
@HVACS5 жыл бұрын
Yes, I mentioned it is called the drop leg... I didn’t mention drain or drain leg but it IS still the liquid line either way based on the basic refrigerant circuit even if it isn’t called that by rack techs

An HH drier is used for wax removal after a burnout. If you are trying to remove acid from a system, the standard 4864 drier is the correct drier to use. This has been a misconception in the industry for years. Check Sporlan or Alco’s specs on their cores. They will tell you the same thing.

Those hot oil loops inside the suction header had a tendency to crack/break, so Hill and Kysor Warren discontinued them. We in the service industry unhooked many during remodels and retrofits. Whenever those would leak directly into the suction header, many issues would ultimately present themselves. The service tech then would have no choice but to abandon the loop.

I heard OCV, and most likely is a 20. I don't front seat discharge valves when I do oil change, if it leaks back we have a plate problem. I also remove sentronic sensor and clean strainer

Why are the liquid lines on the condenser doubled trapped as well as the condensers shown in the vid were at the same level as the motor room which can lead to gas binding you really don't have a free draining liquid leg especially with the liquid line trapped?

The key word being "some". A proper OH&S safety program would make it mandatory. Decibel test before starting work. Company safety manual would dictate at what level hearing protection is to be worn. Definatelt would be required here.

I would take that ring off if I were you, you need a rubber ring that will break if it gets caught in anything. You are going to lose your ring finger if you do commercial hvac for 20 years and wear a ring iike that

I notice a lot of techs dont wear gloves when they should. These chemicals is bad for the ozone so imagine what it does to your body
