I work on commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipmemt for a living. I personally own a True TSID-48-2L reach in cooler. I absolutely love the sound of the condenser fan and compressor. Many people think it's too loud for a house, and it costs about 21$ a month in electricity to run. I don't care... It's a magnificent sound from a quality piece of equipment. If it stops running... I race and grab my tools and figure out why, she gets the full treatment always. It's also full of craft beer so she plays a critical role in my life

whenever I was home alone, I’d literally just sit in the kitchen and look through the window. All I could here was this, the water dripping and the birds. Sometimes, I could hear my neighbor’s granddaughter cry. She was just 3 when I lived there. I did this almost every day. One day, my neighbour passed away. She was very old. After that, the baby wen to live in the big city with her parents. When my parents were home, I could hear the TV. But this sound was still very overwhelming. I could hear the cars pass by and imagine myself inside them, going somewhere. I’d just sit on my old rusty steel chair and rest my back on the table. The fridge was old, so you could kinda hear the ice melting inside. Everything was peaceful. Whenever I was there, it was as if I was in another dimension. Somewhere where people lived off of sound. I guess I lived a very peaceful life, then.

As a kid I was always found sleeping in the weirdest places. This being my favorite one. I’ll lay on the cold floor with my head against the warm sides of the fridge with a blanket and be content. Even now when I’m anxious I open the fridge and the noise, light and cool air calms me. I call it fridge time 😂 something about it helps my nervous system… maybe it’s from childhood but I listen to this when I can’t do it in person. I’d even have the door half open and my head laying on the bottom with a blanket. Best sleep ever
