You forgot to mention the guaranteed for life on the kits, and the fact they will replace the components or the entire kit if you use it to save a life

They have also gone so far as to say that if you use any kit components (even from a competitors kit) to save a life, they will replace what you used for free.

I really like this kit. It has good trauma supplies but also some minor wound care items (which, of course, will come up a lot more). They found a good balance especially for people who carry a kit for reasons other than carrying/using a gun.

I just ordered my Nth bearfak. The discount was too good to pass up(thank goodness for HSA) The new 3.0 is deffo an improvement over previous generations. I have one in every vehicle, on each floor of my home and have gifted them to friends and family with the expectation they learn how use every item in the kit. And like Bear says - this is NOT a boo boo kit, but those are important and oft overlooked as well. Ask the next person you see what they have to provide first aid…. Most folks I talk to have a hard time scraping together a decent 🩹 Learn, practice and perhaps one day save a life! Great vid! Thank you

I had put my own bag together and it's nice to know the only thing I missed was the airway . I have it on the list but had no idea what size to get . I would also look for a 1/2 ounce bottle of povidone iodine solution Betadine makes one small enough to fit in the space at the top of your bag and for in the field wound cleaning it comes in handy.

Hi there, I am not a professional in medical care and follow your videos in order to get to the "very basics" in case of accidents. I bought this kit, despite the very high cost, as it it difficult to collect each item separately in Europe (don't know why). I have a basic first aid kit in my car but I had to set-up a specific one (piece-by-piece) to have a minimal support during my motorbike raids (my group and me usually go where an ambulance is unlikely to arrive at all). I understand this is not precisely your objective but I (and probably not only me) would appreciate a lot a video dedicated to "specific" situations of possible accidents such as bike/motorbike adventuring or even trekking (what to bring, how to prepare). There are several different "scenarios" where a kit needs to be customised for the purposes. Ideally, should it be possible, in including a little statistical data about how likely an event/injury is and its typical level of severity. Pls note that, again not knowing why, I have difficulties in getting proper training. For example I attended the available red cross trainings for public (read non professionals) where the level is rather generic. Videos with visual examples about how to actually act in an emergency are very useful, in my view. Thaks a lot for your contents.

Five stars on the basic contents, threw a few things out and replaced with more useful items. Did throw the entire outer carrier away. Was so tight with contents that two men could not retrieve the med kit with one hand. Maybe a bad unit, but still. Contents have to be accessible using one hand.

Good review seems fairly adequate for a lot of situations. The 3rd ABD I don't know about that. Liked the idea of including something for eye injuries, hadn't seen the clear eye protector before in a kit. From the comments below it sounds like great customer service, which is severely lacking these days.

I’m hesitant on that product as of yet. While I am stoked to see EDC being thought of in TQ design there is zero literature on it and the only thing they say is that it was tested at a “level 5 trauma center” with is the lowest trauma designation in the United States. They should have at least written their own study which they didn’t. The carabiner and chem light both seem gimmicky and “solve” problems that didn’t exist. Hopefully some good lit comes out about them but I am not holding my breath.

I have one question on hemostatic packing gauze vs a hemostatic powder In your experience is the hemostatic powder (like bleed stop powder) an ok substitute or is it not too practical in real world scenarios? I know one limiting factor to their practicality would be using them outdoors when the wind is blowing or possibly if it's raining and the powder gets wet before you get it in the wound. Thank you

Apparently to some, this kit is too much money. However, these same folks will buy the newest and greatest AR or AK on the market making it their third, fourth, fifth, or more, guns they own, or buy the next leading plate carrier because it's the new fab, but they complain about the cost of a decent medical kit that has a lifetime replacement warranty. I have my AR, I have a plate carrier and plates, should I get that suppressor or get a solid medical kit? I'm going with the medical kit before the suppressor 🤷.

Hey sam, it's possible you've already addressed this question somewhere else but I was wondering if it's possible to effectively cut in oversized NPA to length and still accomplish the same job? You mentioned in this video that the 28 French fits most military-age males; if I have a patient that the 28 French doesn't fit would cutting it to length work in your opinion?
@fevre_dream8542
@fevre_dream8542 Жыл бұрын
The issue isn't primarily length, it's diameter. Cutting it to length won't do anything if the diameter is too great for it to be passed into/through the nose.

I have a question regarding a tourniquet. The country I live in, doesn’t recommend the use of a tourniquet for civilians. Because as you said in previous videos, a bad application can do more bad than good. That said I am an advanced first aid certified civilian (no tourniquet certs or lessons followed because as a civilian i cannot get a tourniquet lessons here) Should I still buy one? Or is it a waste of money?

I would love to see an itemized list of everything in the BearFak 3.0, with links for purchasing said items, that comes in at 50% or less than the cost of a BearFak. Then show me how I get free lifetime replacements for anything I break or use to save a life for 50% less than a BearFak... Then show me that your pieced together kit has been battle tested by all 4 branches of our military... Need I say more? If you're BROKE, piece together what you can, but you'd be wise to invest in a Good IFAK (like the BearFak). Whatever you carry, proper training is paramount! The best part of Refuge Medical gear, is the exceptional training they offer through Refuge Training. Best in the business, hands down! Get training people! Without it, your IFAK might as well be a designer purse full of makeup.

Like the other feller said, they offer lifetime replacement of any item in the kit. Lastly, your supporting Americans, and an American company with I'm willing to bet the best customer service you'll get from any company.

The Bear Fak is a good kit, although overpriced. It's a shame that PrepMedic parrots the company's hype by claiming that it exceeds military standards. It does not and is well below current standards. Today, standard-issue JFAKs have 2 tourniquets, 2 regular gauzes, and 2 Combat gauzes. The Bear Fak does not even have 1, just a measly 3-inch x 4 feet roll of QuikClot instead of the 2 packages of 3-inch x 4 yards QuikClot issued in the military. I understand that PrepMedic gets clicks, sponsor money and ad revenue, shoutouts, etc. but he should remember his review of the standard-issue JFAK he posted on his own channel 3 years ago and stop shilling for sub-standard $270 IFAKs.

Ductape and small zip ties are military field options, have to use what you have
@PrepMedic
@PrepMedic Жыл бұрын
They are not and you should use neither because failure rates are almost 100%. If you want a quick “field” option try packing the wound with a shirt. As a point of fact there was a TQ company that made a zip tie for a tourniquet and it had over an 80% failure rate
@toddk1377
@toddk1377 Жыл бұрын
Field options for non emergency uses sounds more like it or only as a redundancy to secure a bandage. Otherwise it's mostly for gear and things that don't make the difference between life and death but nice to have in some situations.
