I love this list of refurbishing a Suzuki GS500. Great job! Looking forward for more projects like this!

Thank you for your kind words! Do you have any opinion to share regarding the videos being separated into multiple parts? WOuld you prefer to watch it all as one video (maybe 45-60 min long?). I am currently editing a similar video of a Suzuki SV 650 I did, and it is already over 30 mins, could get up to double that easily..

@@DennisGarage hey! I would not mind Watch a 60, 90, or 120 mins long! By the way, I own a Suzuki SV 650, so that video must be a lot useful! Keep up with the hard work! Thank you.

Greetings from Kyiv, Ukraine. I also have a GS500, your project is very interesting. The motorcycle is very dirty😂 Your hands are growing from the right place😂💪 You did everything right, you just restored it, and did not start to change something constructively in it. I have had many motorcycles, 250, 750, 1000 and various Kawasaki, Honda, Suzuki. For 15 years I came to a simple motorcycle. I do everything myself with my bike. Your video is like a tutorial. Thanks!!!

Get a service manual for a motorcycle and start with easy jobs. Look up stuff on KZbin or internet forums and you'll probably be able to get a lot done. Begin with doing all your maintenance yourself. If you come across something that needs attention which you didn't do yet - for example problems with the wiring - study the topic and get a grasp of what's involved and then try and fix it. That's ultimately how I got to know what I know now. If you are a "beginner mechanic", just don't start with working on your brakes for example as they are the most important component on a motorcycle.

@@DennisGarage Thank you for your message bro 😌🙏. You are one of the first mechanics to give me motorcycle advice. 🤝I would have liked to be your assistant to learn on site, unfortunately it is impossible. But I remember your precious advice.✍ Thank you.

Learned a few things from your excellent videos have the kawasaki version of this (ex500d-6) had the baby version of this nearly 3 decades ago in gsx250 that was in hell of a state got most of it fixed but did not have your options for doing much of the work.

I know where you're coming from with your comment; I too first worked outside in the parking lot, used a beer case to lift the bike up or sit it down on it so I can remove the swingarm and stuff :D I do feel blessed with my big workshop, no question, even though it is not perfect. I am glad you enjoyed the video! I am currently in the middle of 2 huge projects and hope to be able to make more motorcycle content like with the GS 500 in the next year............... Damn IRL projects throttling my bike fixing+filming plans 🥲

Looks great! Fortunately you didn't hold on to the starter button for much longer without any oil in the engine 😄

Yeah, was a real rookie mistake on my side. Glad it worked out. Unfortunately, the engine is tending to burn oil through the valve stem seals at only 10k km ... oh well. Can't win all :D

Awesome job, m8!!! What an amazing restoration job! I have a 1999 gs500E and dream about doing the same job you did on my byke. It is amazing the care you take with all byke parts. You have made this byke very happy, bro. Thx for sharing this superb video. Greetings from Brazil!

With all the parts, cost for TÜV, spare bike etc it was a bit over 2000€. Excluding my labour of course..

@@DennisGarage you are a professional bro. Also awesome job with the filming and editing. Is that an ultrasound cleaner? Anything special or any type? It looks very useful for a lot of parts, i can t imagine fuel injectors.

Hi. How did you attach the side bags to the gs500?
@DennisGarage
@DennisGarage 2 ай бұрын
They are softbags and are fastened with velcro straps over/under the seat. at the bottom of the bags, in the front and read, there was an additional strap to stop them from wobbling side to side.
