ez FxS Anti-theism is something Christopher Hitchens said probably once, and yeah people have reacted negatively towards it since a lot of people believe you cant be more than an agnostic - this is just a philosophical viewpoint. Why is the term "atheist" necessary? I consider myself an atheist, but i wonder why people who are moral and just need to call themselves anything, like some people are feminist, some are agnostic, like.. is that really who you are? Just a political, philosophical and ideological instrument? MOST people are for equal opportunity, for example. As a Swede and a true non believer in a god i have to make a statement to this whole "New Atheism"-thing. We in Sweden take atheism for granted. Most swedes are atheists and have been for a long time. We just don't go around talking about it. We don't make our self bigger or better than the people who do believe. Now that religion is on a uprising in Sweden with Islam and the christian-faiths the "New Atheism" have started to grow here in to. And as an atheist of the older school i look at the new atheist movement and think "Wait a minute, isn't this a religious cult following a leader with symbols and shit just like any other shitty religion out there" With that being said, the new religiousness shit i see in Sweden today makes me mad to. We have lived side by side with religious people for a long time with the agreement. "Your faith and believes is something you do at home and not in public" Now people are wearing crosses around their necks proudly, muslims walking around with their symbols openly, people jazzing around with Kippah´s. This new atheism stuff is a backlash of this. Maybe it is needed i dont know yet. But it is an atheistic answer to the whole religious openness that globalism is bringing us. Good bad ? Ironhead Harley the definition of religion is "the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods." So I beg to differ. The definition of atheism is "disbelief or lack of belief in the existence of God or gods." So atheism cannot be a religion. It is the lack of belief. What you're talking about is the things that atheists believe in, which is most often science. They use said science to say "Hey, religious people. This is why we do not believe." But yes, a lot of tension is rising because of stupid things like religious beliefs.

As much as it pains me to say this, I'm disappointed with this new Refused. As much as I want 'Freedom' to to be the next "Shape of Punk" I know it's not going to be based on what I've heard so far. And this single is a strong indicator. Maybe Refused is going for a more nostalgic sound like 80's thrash metal but if they're looking to be the innovators that they were in the late 90's well they're falling short. Refused has been out of the metal scene for almost 20 years! Metal and hardcore have evolved tremendously since then. It's like Refused has not been paying attention to the new generation of metal bands like White Chapel, Between the Buried and Me, TBDM, Impeding Doom, etc who have raised the bar higher than what was previously expected. I don't think they're apt to compete with the contemporary scene. Refused is being a bit arrogant, but then again I don't think they believe they new album will surpass their last one. All I'm saying is that they need to step it up because ALOT has changed, the bar has been set REALLY high and I expect better from them.

I'm glad Dawkins is getting some criticism. I haven't heard him in years (more than a decade) but back then quickly he sounded like a douche. And it's scary to me most people don't catch on to that faster. Can't people tell when there is a total absence of EMPATHY from someone's ideas? Besides atheism shouldn't be a label. I answered "agnostic"" when i was younger when asked.......now I'm more spiritual I guess you could say....but that's just another label to lump me in with a bunch of other people. Humans are so stupid. Politics are dead. It's time we drop our cultural conditioning and bias when investigatin what we consider to be the truth. And that involves a lot of intellectual humility. Not here to debate, but just wanted to say something: as a modern Christian trying to move the church away from right-wing politics, there are many of us who want the same social justice as many atheists. The same could be said for many Muslims. Even if our theology is all different There's no reason we can't live in peace. No reason Dawkins and others have to forcibly eradicate us. I don't know any atheists who would like to forcibly disallow anyone from practising religion. The glorious thing about secularism is that there is no absolute leader, only a few spokespeople. For example, in my opinion, religion is something that we should grow out of eventually. You want to talk about hostility? How about the fact that religious people, be they Muslim or Christian, believe that I, as an atheist, deserve to burn in eternal hellfire. Morten Vilhelmsen You seem to be leaving one key point out of the entire premise you think you have figured out...God ALLOWED the creation of suffering to take place in order to maintain FREE WILL among His creation. God never wanted robots worshiping him due to simple programming. He created us with the ability to choose Him. He allowed Satan the same choice. He would have to in order to keep with his promise to allow His creation the opportunity to choose their own fates. You and I have this same option. God WANTS us but doesn't NEED us. He'd like nothing more than to have everyone experience a relationship with Him, yet it's only by our own decisions that we choose His path or the path that goes nowhere. It isn't easy because the people of the world are born into sin and are inherently bad, not good. It is because of the positive influences of God that society has been able to progress to the point we are at now. Yet there's still corruption and evil everywhere because Satan will have a foothold here until judgement day. He wants everyone almost as badly as God does for no other reason than to see his creator saddened by the loss of His creation (us). He's pissed for being cast out of Heaven and will do everything in His power to turn you away from God, be that through doubt, perceived logical or scientific explanations for "everything" in the world. Science alone cannot even come close to explaining everything. It's merely a construct gave us the ability to learn in order to better understand how truly complex our world is. People have legitimate spiritual/supernatural experiences all the time. Experiences that defy the laws of physics and seem completely impossible, yet the devil has given us cynicism, mistrust, and doubt to keep us in his pocket for as long as he can. If he can keep you comfortable and skeptical about anything spiritual, he's absolutely done his job. He doesn't even want you to believe he exists, because if you don't believe in him, chances are you don't believe in God, and that's exactly what he wants. The worst thing you could possibly do, in Satan's book, would be to pursue a personal relationship with God. Nothing angers him more. That's why people's lives tend to get shittier when the become Christians. The devil hits them harder in order to sway them. Having Faith isn't by any means easy. It paints an enormous target on a person's back. God allows things to happen to us in order to test our faith in Him. Not everyone makes it, yet there are still people who suffer for years with cancer and end up going to their grave proclaiming that they love their Lord. Why would someone do that if faith is nothing but "Bronze Age bullshit?" Why live a life of hardship and unanswered questions if there wasn't even a bit of God feeling present in someone's life, even through all the pain and suffering? The longer you seek truth, the higher the chance you have of finding God. I wish everyone luck here in their search for truth. I hope you all have a blessed life

Goddamn it. None of the songs released so far are any good at all. It's like they have no idea what made "The Shape of Punk to Come" special. You'd think I would learn to stop pre-ordering albums.

Leisure Muffin I am running into the same issue..I've been waiting over a decade for a true followup to Shape..and this record is NOT it...I think it's jjust age, time, and capital gains...
