My family and I went to go see "Birth of a Nation" at the Movie Tavern, located in Flowertown, Pa, a suburb of Philadelphia. Walking up to the counter we notice that the marque said sold out. Before the clerk can say anything, a women walked up to us (Black) I believe to be a manager, very gracious and said there were sits available and gave us tickets. We walked into the theater to see only 4-5 people. By the end of the movie there were only at least 15 people, but yes, something strange is going on. There is some fear out there whenever there's some kind of enlightenment that's beneficial to Black People.

Per WikiPedia, the Tulsa Race Riots: "The attack killed hundreds and left an estimated 10,000 people homeless." The phrasing "killed hundreds" is pretty ambiguous--the US has kept statistical data and census records since the 1700's, there's no reason they couldn't have been more specific. It seems like they used "killed hundreds" to make it sound more horrific---which is entirely unnecessary; burning down an entire neighborhood and killing unsuspecting residents is certainly horrific enough. Exaggerating does nothing to help. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greenwood,_Tulsa

I used to be a manager for a movie theatre (not Regal)...it literally takes up to 1 hour to set up or replace a film and theatre due to the projectionist needing to set the film up and only if there is another copy sent to that theatre. Every theatre receives a set amount of film reels for each movie. It's all set up months before by the corporate bigwigs and studios. "Adding another" theatre at the last minute is extremely problematic and almost unheard of. All of these theatre are rented out and contracted by the studios. My ass, they suddenly added on a theatre due to a previous one selling out. Lying bastards.

@DamianSmikle8 жыл бұрын
TheAdviseShowTV I agree with you. I plan on seeing the movie at least 2-3 more times. But I also have to remind you about something. Sadly we live in a world where many people are looking out for their best interest. What's in it for me, especially in our community. With this being said, that's one of the factors that leads to this lack of support. Everyone is questioning what is in it for them if they help another person black person out. Rather than seeing the bigger picture of helping our brothers and sisters to help elevate the community. They lack vision!
