Sailing San Francisco 🌉 to Los Angeles 👼 Down the California Coast /// SHE SAILS SOLO

It's been an absolutely crazy 2 months since I left the San Francisco Bay and started cruising down the California Coast on my 40 foot wharram Catamaran, KIKAPU. Between large swell and little winds, engine troubles and the Santa Ana winds I got jumbled in when I was running low on gas, it's been very eventful sailing. Luckily, as I've sailed south the weather's calmed and my overwhelm has melted away just in time for the holidays.

I'm kind of bummed I didn't get a chance to say goodbye... to Ozzy, very cool doggie! 🙂 I guess your departure makes the last two bags in the glass case into collector's items? I'm curious what your fuel burn (G/Hr) was while doing four knots out of Morro Bay.? Also you mentioned typical 72 hr anchor limits down the coast, my experience in the area is that a simple and pleasant phone call to the Harbor Master a few days before arrival usually gets permission to stay 14 days.

It's hard to tell exactly since we were constantly altering speed in relation to the swell, but it's probably close to 1 g/hr. With little wind, we didn't want to chance running out of fuel in the middle of the channel. And they were accommodating here, but definitely hesitant and a bit suspicious.
