thank you so much. worked like a charm, and yes you have to dissasemble the hole thing to get the cooler out. Also there are some blue hard tipped cables that you have to manually pull down and some White cornered cables you must pull in the direction of the cable to release. Overall a hard process but I did it and put it back was easyer. works like a charm no mroe overheat and no tractor noises!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Mine started shutting down randomly and was not overheating. tried running it with a fan pointed directly at it to see if it was overheating. Still shut down and was not hot. I suspected the fan. This video took all the guesswork out of taking it apart. Found a big clump of years worth of dust trapped between the fan and the exhaust opening. fan was unable to move. Cleaned, reassembled, good as new!

I've been an IT Consultant for over 20 years now, and have worked on my share of notebook PC's, and I have to say you NEVER use a power drill to unscrew the screws, unless you are just plain careless and don't give a shit about your customer's hardware. Seriously people, this is an example of what NOT to do do your clients PC... there are right tools for disconnecting the tabs along the case as well.... (cringe each time I hear the drill grind....) and how you just toss the parts onto your table... and with no protective cloth to keep from scratching the case (no matter how soft you claim your desktop is)... totally unprofessional....

Could you tell me where the CMOS battery is located on the Satelitte P775? I wasn't able to see it on your video. My laptop won't boot up, or stay on when I do get it to boot up, so I thought I'd try changing the CMOS battery. Thank you, Linda

You should tell us (voice over?) what to components are as you remove them. I need the LAN and headphone plugs replaced as well as the keyboard.
@regazzz8 жыл бұрын
+archangel20031 I understand that you need some explanation what is what and so on. First thing first and LAN Ethernet jack is sitting on the motherboard and to change it you will need to desolder it and solder a new one back. If you can do that, you probably would not ask what it is and where it is. With Audio Jack is it is a good news. Because you can replace a board that is can be found on eBay. Type in Toshiba P775 Audio Jack and voila, you will find some for sure. Any other parts, if you need explanations what is what - watch a video I made about all laptop parts kzbin.info/www/bejne/q57bi5Kkpt-rhM0

+regazzz OK, a year looking for the head set plug part and now I know what to call it and found it. Thank you, and I will check out the other video. And if there is something I don't think I can handle, I'll have the son-in-law help.
@regazzz8 жыл бұрын
+archangel20031 a few useful things you can do to make this process as painless as possible. 1)before removing screws get A4 paper and sign all screw holes. When you will remove a screw you will know for sure where it came from. 2) be very gentle with all connectors. 3) although you got videos from KZbin, don't hesitate to take as many pictures as possible, for example a picture of how exactly some cables are placed, because sometimes it is impossible to remember if all. Have fun fixing your laptop.

regazzz When you disassamble a lap like this you need to put a felt cloth on the table so the lap don't get scratches. Minus for you. And those screws, you can hear how you erase the cross on them by not stopping the screwdriver. Another minus. And let's NOT talk about using a knife to separate plastic clamps...
@regazzz11 жыл бұрын
Look, my table is pretty soft, it does not make lot's of scratches. On some very fine laptops I use additionally some material. So, no minus here I guess. While unscrewing this not stopping this drill not a problem. Maybe scratch a screws a little, but not erase a cross. If you want to erase - you should screw it back and keep rotate a bit, than it will be erased. So, I am guessing I am getting a little minus over here, but not a big one :))))) My knife is not a knife, it is not sharp at all and very thin. On the other hand it is better than a flat screw driver and last match longer than all type of plastic tools I tried. Anyway, thanks for detailed review :) Happy New Year!

@@regazzz Yeah I just looked at eBay too... I need a new board with the HDMI & USB ports. The Toshiba p774-s7100 is a freaking workhorse. Had it for about 10 years. The damn thing disintegrated when I took it apart.. all the ribbons came apart and broke. All over the HDMI port taking a crap and not recognizing my tvs. Hard drive fan heat sink processor screen are all good but they can't be connected to a new board because all the ribbons self destructed. I can't even get a new motherboard for it because the ribbons won't hook up to it. So now I'm looking for a used p775-s7100 that will accept that hard drive without new OS installation.. wheee... fun. Looks like I'm going to have to get a new one and set it all back up again. Thanks for the chat. Great video...
