"Holistically fulfilling " is so accurate! For those who think you need 10 or more acres to do this, think again. We raise dairy sheep and laying chickens on about 1.5 acres of pasture and use pasture rotation. The results are mind-boggling. More growth, more diversity, and so much more fauna! Great video!

That looks great! My wife and I are planning to start a small 15 acre farm here soon. I can't speak from personal experience, but I would encourage you to look up Dr. Allen Williams and what he has to say about "weeds", adaptive grazing, etc. According to him and many others, weeds are not a bad thing and are growing in the soil for a reason. They also carry abundant nutrients and beneficial antioxidants. As long as there isn't an abundance of one specific plant, the diversity weeds is a positive thing. But I also think you are positively impacting your pastureland because you are getting more grasses to grow with less weed impact. It all boggles my mind a bit, but I can't wait to get started down the regenerative path!

That is exciting that you are about to start your journey. Yes the weeds are there for a reason. Plus, our sheep love them! Everything has a purpose and when managed right, moves in harmony with nature. Thanks for the comment!

If you go back to some of our first videos titled Drought part 1 & 2 you can really see where our pasture started. The difference is mind blowing.

Just amazing !!! You're loving and using the land that makes it grow...my grandparents did it the same way as you...raising cows, pigs, chickens, ducks...you have a connection to what you are doing...it's in your soul...and with God's hand...you will prosper...

Maybe that bare spot is caused by gravity. It seems that the pasture slopes a bit down to that bare spot, so perhaps there's a nitrogen poisoning happening there when the rain flushes everything to that corner.

Well, we definitly need more of this for all farms. I hope one day, we can have 100% regenerative farming, then it will just actually be farming like it used to be.

Plants exposed to synthetic fertilizer no longer release root exudates and develop a rhizosheath that supports the soil microbiome. Hence "water grass". See Dr. Christine Jones' teachings.

To look at the fly issue, have you ever thought of adding the Dung Beetle to burry the manicures hence reducing fly populations.

inspirational.. those dead spots are odd though? I wonder if you fed the chooks something a bit off.

Thank you! Perhaps we threw something in there that we don’t remember. Seeing footage from last year that bare spot was already there. Maybe had something to do with the septic system that got installed last spring. Who knows? Hopefully it comes back next year… Thanks for watching!

At 3:22 you could have had cattle out on that pasture 3 days after cutting / mowing it ! This pasture is over mature. Cattle will not eat most of it.......unless you starve them ! Take note......cattle farmer often have electric fences around their property...meaning the cattle are looking for something better on the other side of the fence ! Anytime that happens you know you have poor quality pastures !
