I got recommended a short from your channel, so here I am! I love how you are respectful and caring of the environment for your industry! As a child I dreamed of sustainable aquaculture that enriched the ocean environment. You are living my dream. ✌🏼💖

Seems like a very symbiotic relationship between pearl farming and its other inhabitants. Rarely can that be said about most industries.

Why did I just see this exact comment on the reel that brought me here? Ya a bot?😅
@Aprilseahorse4 ай бұрын
@jay_tarantula899 No bot here. The truth is that most of my comments are rarely commented on, so why not share the same thoughts that apply to others. Doesn't make them any less valid. And yes, bots suck.

How many Pearls can you get from a single oyster? What happens once the oyster is harvest?
@KamokaJosh Жыл бұрын
Usually 3 pearls from the same oyster. After the final pearl the oyster either gets released back to the lagoon or it gets harvested. The shell is sold in part to make more pearl nuclei, the adductor muscle is eaten and the viscera is used as compost in our veggie garden.

@@KamokaJoshI was wondering about the traceability, and then you brought it up at the end. There’s no system right now, but could you start implementing one? If you could somehow laser inscribe the pearl, or something along those lines, with a unique serial number of sorts, link that to your webpage, allow people to track which ethical farm their oyster came from, and your website educating people about ethical pearl farming, etc etc. It’s kind of like traceable diamonds. I think you’d be surprised how many people would be supportive of that once it was marketed.

I’m not usually like a person who is against eating animals or anything like that but when I watched your videos for some reason it was recommended and I saw that you were getting pearls out of the oysters now I don’t eat oysters I never like them but when you were putting the brick in there I was saying oh my God it looks like it hurts for some reason I just felt like pain but then I had to watch this video to see if that hurts them or what you’re doing and why are you doing it and I get it because pearls are gorgeous. They’re beautiful, but now that I’m watching this video and I see how all the comments I’m starting to feel a little more comfortable about it because I guess I eat animals so I can’t say anything but it’s just funny how I felt the pain of the oyster and now you’re explaining it so it feels better and now I would love to own one of your products and I’m gonna look into it

Oysters do not have a central nervous system (brain). They have a nerve ganglia. Which is basically a proto brain, a small collection of nerves and neurons that respond to stimulus. Creatures with a nerve ganglia do not feel pain like a creature with a brain does - they do not have the nociception receptors in the brain it takes to feel pain. So this isnt hurting the oyster.

How long does it take for each pearl?
@Spade_jade Жыл бұрын
3-4 years for them to mature enough to make pearls, and then they will make one every year for them. This is what they have stated in previous videos.

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." -John 6:47-51. Jesus of Nazareth is The Messiah, God In the Flesh of man. He died for the remission of sin, including yours, was buried and rose from the dead on the third day. Whoever believes on him for an instant has everlasting life in heaven, and will live, even if they die.
