When you say protein, are you referring to nitrogen content used to calculate ASSUMED protein content? Not all the nitrogen in plants is protein, so thats usually overestimated

Comfrey that seeds is horribly invasive here and grows so thick that it strangles everything else. Here, cattle and sheep dont touch blackberry at all

They probably haven't learned to eat the blackberry plants yet, sheep are known to eat them and if you have goats they hit them especially hard because they love blackberry plants so much.

@Nightowl5454 No, I don't think that's it. Blackberry is a long-standing, introduced, widespread weed here. Goats will eat the stuff but sheep and cattle (we have a LOT of sheep and cattle in Australia) don't and it's rapidly taking over good pastures. There is no way I'll consider goats.

This all assumes you're not mixed farming because you wouldn't want this stuff in your crop.
