i think the weather kinda adds more to its charm/mystique. Living in LA i relish going to a cooler city thing with London is that the weather is not extreme most of the time almost consistently. When it's hot it is hot, pleasantly hot in comparison, not like here when the heat is literally peeling your skin off, and when it's cold it isn't extreme to the extent say some cities like New York or Canada are. so no extremity on either side Thats another great thing about it, imo
@LA905985 жыл бұрын
Just to point out London has good weather in the summer, it has less rainfall than New York and Paris ... this year 2019, an average summer was very dry and sunny with temps exceeding 25 often, from April to August except for 2 weeks of showers in early June. It reached 39 in July. 2018 was a scorcher and 2016 and 2017 were great too. I could go on. Yes it can be cloudy and grey in the WINTER but so is most of Northern Europe. Autumn and spring can be lovely warm and sunny too more often than not. London has a reputation for gloom but it's unfair.

Really liked this video, particularly as we walked part of it ourselves in 2013, but I'm most interested in the practical aspects of how you did this with your IPhone 6. For instance surely you didn't hand-hold your phone the whole way, gimbal or otherwise ? So I'm assuming you had maybe a pouch somehow strapped to your upper body with the camera lens exposed ? Also I suppose you had several stops to save the file, copy it to SD card or elsewhere etc ? For the hour and say twenty minutes, what sort of an overall file size was the finished result ?
@WatchedWalker6 жыл бұрын
That's Nigel, nice to hear you enjoyed the video. I did hand-hold the gimbal the whole time - I wish I had a harness of some kind! All of the files where saved on the iPhone until I transferred them at the end of the day, being 1080p they weren't too big, easily fitting on the 128GB iPhone.

Me and the Mrs are hopefully going to do this very same walk this summer (providing we are able to get down subject to the unlocking of the restrictions). We are planning on ending the walk at the Gasholders (which I believe is in the Coal Drops Yard) and then walking back to the nearby Kings Cross station to return back on the Tube to our hotel. A couple of questions that I wondered if you could answer for me please? From the Paddington Basin start point to Camden Lock, is the route well signed and easy to navigate, or is there points where its easy to get lost (which is the last thing we want with not from the area haha). Also, which Tube station would you recommend for been the nearest to Paddington Basin. Thanks.
@WatchedWalker4 жыл бұрын
TalsVids, it's a lovely walk so well worth doing. The canal is easy to follow, though just be careful at Little Venice and Camden Lock, where you have to leave the canal side path and join it again a little later - I suggest watching my video at those two points just to get an idea of where to head. As for the nearest tube station to Paddington Basin, Edgware Road is only a couple of minutes away 🙂
