2024 marks 50 years since Ken Boothe burst onto the international scene with his sublime rendition of Bread's melancholic "Everything I Own", topping the UK charts in October 1974 for 3 weeks.
Ken Boothe, arguably the finest Jamaican soul singer of his generation, sat down with DJ 745 at his Kingston home/museum to share some memories of yesteryear, reminiscing about his first ever tour of the UK with Alton Ellis in 1967. Sharing the story of how he discovered 'Everything I Own' whilst in Canada and ended up recording his own version to complete an album being produced by Lloyd Charmers at Federal Studios.
