annibell way it's a huge cash grab on KZbins part, they saw how Netflix and things like it were making a lot of money and took the idea It's not available in most places Its very hard to be not ad friendly, KZbin doesn't even care about its guidelines ,it was putting ads on isis videos not long a go, all KZbin cares about is money And it's a bit of a betrayal on creators parts, if they needed more money they could find a company to put a add at the start of there videos, like many have for years, instead people either have to miss out or pay for KZbin red (many viewers are kids so can't)

+The Hunter I'd be with you if KZbin was creating big profits, but they're only really breaking even since hosting all these videos, effectively for free, is pretty expensive. While it's sad that a few shows are put behind a paywall, so much is still free that I hardly think it's a big issue... And for this big stuff extra funding is needed. The only real problem with youtube red is that it's not available across the board in all countries... Eventually it probably will be though and there's no reason you can't watch it later on, there's plenty else to watch in the mean time... But yeah, while I don't like piracy, if they don't make the effort to make it possible for everyone to pay for it, I wouldn't blame people for pirating it... But yeah, kids haven't been able to pay for lots of things, that's a thing that happens... I couldn't pay for cable as a kid and missed out on a lot of shows I would have liked to have seen... Right now there's an amazing amount of things you can watch for free, way more than when I was younger... If this was something about a dvd/blu-ray, would we expect to get it for free? I wouldn't. we shouldn't expect to get everything free.

KZbin red is a great idea. It gives our favourite youtubers a way better and more reliable way to get paid so they can continue to create great content, it gives them a chance to be funded by youtube to make extra cool projects that they couldn't afford to otherwise... It means we don't have to watch ads, while still being able to support the content creators we love (even without adblock, apparently skipping ads can mean they get less money)... And if all that still isn't enough for us, we still get to watch the vast majority of stuff for free, so it's not that bad if we don't sign up. Now, so far, the implementation isn't too great, many countries can't get it, but still... The idea itself is fine... Hey, youtube have pretty much only been breaking even despite how much money they make because mostly free video hosting online is expensive.

I've notice a pattern in the comments about KZbin Red People in countries where they don't have it mostly say they would love to watch but they literally can't because of the place they live, while people in countries where they DO have it are saying stuff like "I'll never watch/buy it" "not worth my money" and generally just talking bad about KZbin Red as if it's the worst thing that's ever been done because it umm… *COST MONEY* see the problem here

Ads are not very numerous or profitable at the moment, since some companies pulled out of advertising on youtube... Even if the content doesn't get demonetised for being inappropriate, the money probably won't be that good... Also, Animation takes lots of time and time costs money... I'd be surprised if youtube wasn't helping to fund this, or it probably wouldn't be happening.
