The industry has been sales and hustle focused for 20 years. Now is time to make it a creator focused industry like it was in the late 90s early 2000.

I quit making games for a living and kept doing it during my free time as a passion project instead. Can recommend.

If you're a worker then unionization is ALWAYS a good thing.

Ya. The video title is kinda clickbaity and misleading… he basically just says it's a good thing.

If you haven't been crushed by the video industry this is the kind of response you give. If you're a worker that has, it's clear unionization is good.

Here after seeing Reggie talk about unionisation in his Kit and Krysta podcast interview. Reggie has a really good point that executives won't see their employees push for unions if they foster a good work environment, a point that stems from Reggie's own experience. It makes it all the sadder that companies try to fight unionisation, because the push to unionise is always the result of worker mistreatment.

I'm more of the opinion that unionization is good, but it is nice to see at least one exec type sort of saying that companies should just let employees have unions if they want them and just get on with it.

Yes they are, they are always good for workers, maybe not for the greedy management, He's just giving a safe PR response

I think he may have been just talking "from the perspective of an executive". Like, for an executive, it is not a bad thing either, it just means you have different tools to do your job, which he seems to imply includes giving your workers satisfying working conditions so they can do, as he says, "good work".

The corporate PR response actually tends to be "If our workers feel it is necessary then we've failed them in some way, many unions are exploitative of hard workers and protect slackers, etc so we feel it's not a good fit for our employees, and we'll reassess as we're open to feedback..." Blah blah Reggie's response is not something you'd ever get from an acting CEO, shareholders don't want unionization and they'd be furious.

I mean the opposite is kinda more true, it's both. It's bad for guys like him and good for workers.

Unions are a solution to a problem. wether that is a good solution or not is determined by the problem. If there is a problem that can be solved effectively by more unionization it is a good solution. if not, it is not.

When is the ability for workers to collectively bargain with their employers a bad solution? I understand that it is not a solution for all problems, but I fail to see how it could be considered a 'bad' solution

I want to praise him for stating this public opinion. But he also evangelizes extremely harmful crypto scams and NFTs, where one of their ultimate goals of the people that operate those is to strip away all worker rights and make union organization basically impossible. Basically do to every part of life what the gig economy of Lyft, AirBnB, and UberEats has done to employment and worker rights.

Aw, I'm disappointed. For shame, Reggie.

I googled "Reggie NFT" and found some articles about him defending and suggesting blockchain and NFTs for "player" experience, not for a cash grab. I disagree with his take, but describing him as evangelizing crypto scams is misleading at best. Where is that info?

Crypto is scam, just look at Luna coin. Millones of dollars lost… where is that money? NFT? Go and purchase a real art from a real artist instead a stupid meme picture with a value.
