Du Liniang: 杜丽娘: Had I not come to the garden, how would I even know of such glorious spring? I see only now… bevies of luxuriant flowers blossoming everywhere Such beauty, all forgotten save to the broken well and dilapidated walls Such precious time and intoxicating scenery, but pointless to the otherwise affectionate heaven (parents) And which household would appreciate and allow such pleasure or joy indeed? Lovely weathers in the morns and eves 朝飞暮卷, Iridescent clouds and splendid jade abode 云霞翠轩, The gentle needles of drizzle and puffs of breeze And the foggy waves carrying ornate boats A silk wearing overprotected girl (like me) can waste away precious youth without any such luxury!
Thank you so much for sharing. Do you know where I can get the CD set?

Too difficult to translate. Each line of lyric comes from ancient chinese poem.

Suddenly a most hand-some and elegant youth appeared, of age just fit for the "capping ceremony" of the twentieth year. He had broken off a branch from a willow in the garden, and he smiled and said to me, "Lady, you are so deeply versed in works of literature, I should like you to compose a poem in honor of this willow branch." I was on the point of reply-ing when the thought came to me that I had never seen this man in my life before and did not even know his name. How should I so lightly enter into conversation with him? But just as this was in my mind he came close and began to speak fond words to me; then taking me in his arms he carried me to a spot beside the peony pavilion, beyond the railings lined with tree peonies, and there to- (Found this online, the end of the sentence was missing)

May be this will help you.(My personal favorite English version with rhyme. Translated by Xu YuanRu A riot of deep purple and bright red. What pity on the ruins they overspread! Why does Heaven give us brilliant day and dazzling sight? Whose house could boast of a sweeter delight? At dawn on high rainbow clouds fly; At dusk the green pavilion's seen. In misty waves mingle the threads of rain; The wind swells sails of painted boats in vain. For those behind the screens Make light of vernal scenes.
