(This interview was conducted before King confirmed on Jan. 21 the sudden death of her son, Ian Alexander Jr. He was 26.)

Aunjanue is a wonderful actress. She always has such a powerful screen presence. She never disappoints. I'm so glad she's finally getting the recognition she deserves after all these years. I hope she wins the Oscar.

I love both Regina’s and Aunjanue’s work but if you haven’t seen The Book of Negros with Aunjanue Ellis you’ve missed one of her best movies ❤️❤️❤️❤️ and I just love everything Regina has done.

This was absolutely beautiful. As a Black Woman, it sincerely warmed my soul to see these two women honoring one another so genuinely. You felt the love. You felt the respect. You felt the tears. WHEW!!! Regina is, and always has been, so special to us. She is, indeed, an Icon Living. And Aunjanue Ellis is an undeniable gem to our culture as well. So proud of both of these women.

It's the love that they show for each other for me. The fact that these ladies have worked together twice is amazing. They bodied each and every role they touch. Regina king is an icon in her own right. As for Aunjanue Ellis: she's literally a powerhouse herself. The 22:14 mark was such a touching moment.

Aunjanue Ellis is an icon as well whether she knows it or not. I haven't seen her give a bad performance yet, even if she's on the screen for a short time. I see people giving her, her flowers all the time on Twitter. I really hope that she has a chance to see it!

I love both of these actresses. I have watched Regina grow into this wonderful celebrity of her craft. I also wondered who I could write or contact regarding Anjanue Ellis. She is a tower in her field. She has made her bones. From Ray, The Slave Recorder, Undercover Brother, The Downlow, and so on, she has shown her talent and range. I have often wondered, why Hollywood is sleeping on her? I thought her role in King Richard is superb. Her Image award was well overdo. SAG and other artesian of this wonderful industry wake up. Anjanue is at the top of her game. The Oscar goes to Ms. Ellis

I always find it funny that actors/stars will say they don't have a technique. I wonder if they simply do not realize that they actually do have a technique that works for them but that it is so in their bones and natural that it doesn't feel like they are using a "technique." Of course they have one, they have all been influenced by their experiences and those they have worked with so yeah you picked up some things that you may not even realize or know the name for. Aunjanue went to school for theatre, she has a technique. Technique really refers to tools that and actor uses. Regina worked with the incredible Marla Gibbs who ran a school in LA for black actors, so Regina picked up something you can trust that and she has been working since she was a kid, so its natural to her she makes it look easy as does Aunjanue, we all aren't as gifted as they are in that regard.

@@sarahb6163 My problem with negative people that criticize everything but need to re examine their heart and what they put out in the world. If you don't have any positivity to say. Just keep your mouth shut. You don't have to shove your agenda down people throat.

Aunjanue does identify as bisexual however she has been in a long term relationship with a male gospel singer for 15 years. She often says she’s not the marrying type but she’s the loving type.

I am writing this comment to simply acknowledge the love I have for both of these lovely sistas. God bless you Sister Regina having experienced loss just after this interview. Sister Aunjanue thank you so much for each and every project. I love you both. As a father of two daughters I appreciate the body of work that you have shared with all of us.
