Regina is so many characters. Her life is just full of characters, situations, and imagery. The way she expresses it in her music, through sound, is so serene. I love how many of her songs, she sounds she's so youthful. It makes my heart melt :)

UGH. Why is EVERYTHING she does, why is always genius? Maybe that's narcissistic of me. Because half of this song is things I have thought. But it's things that NOBODY says. I've meant them both I cant so I wont Be like the water being woke and then the lipstick line, it's like it's something I didn't know I've thought, or she put it into words what I've felt. It's just so good to feel validated.

I got a new Canon camera today and I'm highly considering naming it Regina!
@tolyroget11 жыл бұрын
I super agree with you on that name!! "Regina" means "queen", so you can be the queen of pictures with it :) (I now think that if I get a Canon myself one day, I'll do the same as you :) ) I always name my favourite objects, like my guitar or my bike.

Around 2004 there was a site Spektography, or something to that effect, that shared live versions and demos of Regina's songs, especially rarities.Supposedly Regina was fine with them being shared. I have no idea if the site still exists or how legal any of this was, but that's where all these versions come from.

@softbagel1413 жыл бұрын
@ImaNartist1 Thats what I thought! The first time I heard the intro I thought it was some bit of Reflets dans l'eau by Debussy. I believe Reflets dans l'eau means "reflections in the water" and, coincidentally, sounds like a boat going over the waves in an ocean. Very pretty. ;D

Regina Spektor is only one of the best singer-songwriters out there. If you like her song "The Call," check out her newest album "Begin To Hope" with her number one single- Fidelity. If you're really interested, check out all her albums. If your a dedicated fan like i am, check out all her 132 songs (most of them unreleased) on respektonline (good site). But if you like the song "The Call" I highly suggest looking up her unreleased song "One More Time With Feeling" on youtube. It's even better!

by "when i wear lipstick then no one understands me at all" maybe she means when she's in love she can never say quite how she feels? that's just one interpretation though
@Vmole12 жыл бұрын
I think it's referring to the tendency to focus on or judge a woman through the viewer's subjective response to her physical appearance or sexuality, when it's visually emphasized, and not seeing deeper into her emotional and intellectual reality.
