Thank you for this reaction Luis. Yes Regine mentioned in an interview that this is her favorite song of all time! Truly a composition masterpiece by her husband Ogie Alcasid. Her rendition became the gold standard but we cannot deny that the original singer Piolo Pascual is also worth listening to. We have lots of excellent singers in in the PH like Morrisette, Katrina and KZ but Regine is still no.1 for me. What is different about Regine is her vocal quality. It’s so unique, easily identifyable and so pleasing to hear even during belt. I’ve seen and heard so many Filipino impersonators but I’ve never heard anybody that sounded exactly like regine. This is the same case for KZ. I’ve never heard anyone sounded like her or never heard anyone able to imitate her singing style. I love Mori and Katrina. I believe their skills are as good as Regine. Their advantage over Regine is that they can both whistle but regine’s belt is much cleaner. I also feel their vocal sound is not that unique because I’ve heard some people singing who sounded like them but obviously not as good as them. That’s the reason why Regine is still my number 1. :)
