I never liked the Hela style of only discarding big cards because I prefer traditional discard and discarding multiple stuff so I like this more anyway, but still figuring out the exact combos. I never thought to put non discard centric cards like Death, Gorr, Aero and Iron Man in the discard decks I normally have but I'll have to try it and see if it works😂

I have a fairly different but still successful list, running Ebony Maw as a fat 1 drop revive and Colleen Wing or Swordmaster to get it. I didnt think Iron Man and Samurai would be too good because of unpredictability where Iron Man would go, but honestly Hela is still dropping more than enough power to make Iron Man hard pressed to not get worthwhile value. Either way, deeply enjoying how the Hela change has given new life to previously bad discard cards and made deckbuilding more interesting.

And I already explained how Ebony is good, but also he's not the worst thing to drop normally if you need to because Hela can sneak stuff in his lane later. Overall I had a lot of fun with it, and went from rank 73 to 83 in an hour (barely played this season prior to this).

Question. Would it be better to have a 4 cost Ghost Rider to discard so you can potentially double dip on a pulling a high cost card? Or does his effect not take effect when revived?

It's hit and miss. For example if you discarded Iron man, Gorr, Aero and Ghost Rider, then Hela revives Ghost Rider first....Ghost Rider might pull up Gorr, then your Hela will only revive either Iron Man or Aero only. If your Ghost Rider revives one of the 5 cost cards, then Hela will continue by reviving the other 5 cost cards and then Gorr.

I always played NORMAL discard with Hela at the end like usual before people started ruining it by using her with random non-discard cards like Infinaut!

I don't actually play Hela that often, but I feel like Luke Cage basically made Hela's previous nerf inconsequential. I like this new version better because 1) It can't be removed by a single card, 2) I think it weakens the lazy versions of the archetype (Invisible Woman & MODOK,) and 3) it makes a lot of less used cards more viable. Silver Samurai and Sword master, as you mentioned, but I also think Ms. Marvel could do good work here too. If you're looking ahead, I think you might be able to make a strong version of this deck that will work with Eson, too...

This seems like a great balance decision. Hela was always fun to play and terrible to play against because the main way she was used was to cheat out 24-30 energy worth of cards. Most people in an average game can't play 4-5 six cost cards, but with Hela you could. The current Hela is much less of an energy cheat with the fun randomness that only sometimes feels unfair.

OMG Mr. Fantastic is great in Silver Surfer now! I haven't used him since I started playing but I used Psylocke to go into Sera, Onslaught, Mystique and Mr. Fantastic along with Brood, Rescue and Silver Surfer for a big boost! 18 power each to 2 locations at once!😂

So far I have only encountered 1 Hela player since the change and they filled the left lane the entire game, avoiding right due to my Cosmo, and having played Quicksilver mid on 1 and turning out to be Dark Dimension, I had prio on 6 and just played Juggernaut into DD that knocked their Hela into the Cosmo lane. So the one person I have encountered didn’t have a good time against me but maybe they did better elsewhere. 😂
