It's only a problem if you have pissed off customers or renters. If your properties are owned by an llc and it uses a registered agent, those people can't show up at your house and murder you because you evicted them. Or show up at your house and harass you. Because it's much more difficult to find out that you are the owner. For even more anonymity you can use a ups store physical address for your contact info with your agent and mortgage paperwork etc. Once again to protect your home address connected to your name.

Hi there. Not all docs will be going to your RA. Your regular mail will come to you but any service of process etc will go to your RA. We send you your docs within 24 hours and will call you if its something very important in addition to sending them to you electronically.

Hi there! Thanks for the sub!!!! The annual report isn't super complicated to do. I would keep the company as your registered agent but start doing your own Annual Report. BUT if its something you don't want to deal with and its more convenient for the company to do it for you, then no reason to reinvent the wheel. Hope that helps!

The "having your address as public knowledge" reason is completely irrelevant. If you own a home, your address is already public knowledge. You can go to your states tax records, type in someone's name, and see their address.

Hi Jillene, you do know there are alternative to your home address by renting a virtual business address, phone number and mailbox.

Virtual addresses don't work for everything. You will need a physical address to be looked at by banks and lending institutions as legit. Some will personally visit before lending you money just to see if your business is actually real and operational. That's why using a registered agents address is a good way to go. There is a possibility that a private mailbox service (that is manned/staffed during regular business hours) is another route to go.
